This giveaway is now closed. Congratulations to commentor #39: Sandra!
I have to admit that I’ve never heard of Swinxs before this review opportunity but I have a feeling that this toy will make many “wish lists” this upcoming holiday season.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Swinxs is the first screen-free games console that can play games, talk, listen and keep you entertained for hours. The portable entertainment pod engages kids in physical, creative and educational play (including musical chairs, tag and relay ) by using its voice in combination with sounds and colors. Designed for ages four and above, Swinxs talks and explains games, recognizes players and even referees.
OUR REVIEW
When I first heard about Swinxs, I was intrigued. I couldn’t imagine an electronic game that allows kids to run around outside and encourage physical activity. So when our unit arrived, we immediately tried it out with some of the neighborhood kids.
I couldn’t believe how easy it was to set this game unit up. Usually when you’re dealing with anything electronic, you have to charge the battery for 24 hours, read through countless pages of instructions, and then sit there and try to explain it all to the kids. With Swinxs, I just turned the console on and the voice told the kids exactly what they needed to do. How easy is that? This feature encouraged the kids to really listen to what was going on and follow simple steps. The Swinxs is powered by a rechargeable battery that lasts a really long time.
Each child wears a different colored wristband which the console uses to identify each player in the game. There were a selection of games already installed on the unit but you can also go to the Swinxs website and download more games for free. The only thing is that I would have liked to be able to remove the games that the kids do not play to free up more memory. If there is a way to do this, I couldn’t find the information.
Our favorite game is Circle Swinx. In this game, the kids dance around the console to the Swinx music. When it stops, whoever swipes their wristband gets to step out. The music then continues and the last person remaining is the one that loses. We liked this game because it was easy for even Kiana to play along and have a real chance of winning.
We found Swinxs to be a great way to get the kids up and moving around while also enjoying the fun of technology. I liked that there were 3 volume settings and the voice of Swinxs was very engaging. At times the kids felt like he was speaking to them directly. What I found to be funny was the way the voice starts to snore if you leave the console idle. It was hilarious! It’s also
So check out Swinxs and see all the great games they have to offer. This would make the perfect unique gift for the child who has everything!
Purchase your Swinxs for $150.00.

sports quiz
This is a very interesting idea. I’ve never heard of these before, but I’m going to have to do some more research. It would probably be a great tool rather than a toy for most kids. Thanks for the giveaway!
This sure would be great for my kids. The only issue may be who gets what color braclet. I’ll take it!
Hide and seek would be great. Getting the kids outside with some activity. And great for those states that rain or snow alos
Look out WII another game to get you involved and not just sitting on the couch.

The “Animal Sounds” game looks like fun, and is something that my “almost 7″ year old granddaughter could play along with her “almost 3″ year old sister!
