Earthquakes, Hurricanes, & Tsunamis – Oh My!

Update: Looks like the tsunami watch for Hawaii has been cancelled. Thank goodness.  However, the devastation in Peru turned out to be worst than was first expected. So far, 48 dead and 350 injured. My prayers are with them.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
At about 1 pm HST, a 7.5 earthquake hit the central coast of Peru causing damage to some of it’s buildings. Luckily, no one was reported injured.
Hawaii residents are now being warned that this earthquake could possibly generate a tsunami which may hit the Hawaiian Islands around 2am, Thursday. I’ve been watching the news all afternoon and so far nothing has been confirmed. Let’s keep our fingers crossed!
    I just saw that! What’s up with Hawaii lately?! What amazed me is how long it will take for the waves to reach Hawaii. I imagine folks there won’t sleep much tonight.
    Well, things come in threes, so after the Big Island earthquake, the hurricane, and now this, you should soon be back to normal!
    Earthquakes, hurricanes and all, I still wish I was there :)
    I’m glad you and your family are safe. We have a typhoon right now infact, classes were suspended in all levels today so my son stayed home. I’m still waiting for updates regarding the typhoon. I’m not sure if classes will resume tom.
    Wow…this brings back memories for me from this past fall! Remember my recounting our family vacation last Oct. and the first morning was the big earthquake? Well, at least big enough for me, anyway!
    The power was out most of the day and our biggest fear was a tsunami. Thankfully, a few hours later they said on the radio that that threat was past.
    So glad you all are safe, Kiliani! (((HUGS)))
