Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday.
In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.
If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link below. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!
Today’s question is:
What’s your favorite Summer Olympic event?

No doubt about it–Men’s Swimming! Go Michael Phelps!!!
I wish I could say I’ve been keeping up…but sadly all I see is the medal count on yahoo!
Gymnastics, but I also love to watch swimming & diving!
When the Olympics were in LA, I went to go see the Diving and Gymnastics. These have always been my favorite events.
This year, I’ve enjoyed watching Swimming, and cheering on Michael Phelps.
great minds and all…. i have the same question today =)
my favorite is beach volleyball, with indoor volleyball a close second.
Women’s gymnastics.
Gymnastics. Volleyball is awesome, too.
I love the gymnastics. And the diving, swimming and volleyball too.
My question is Olympics related too, but slightly different.
I would say it would be swimming… Do you know that there is a Special Olympics as well? It’s for special people…Love to watch it
Definitely gymnastics!!!!
Right now, I would have to say the Women’s Beach Volleyball! I never thought I could get into it but it is great to watch!
I would say gymnastics, track & field andswimming events – can’t pick just one!
The only thing I’ve watched is women’s gymnastics, I’m embarrassed to say. To be honest, I keep forgetting the Olympics are on! Too bad, because my kids would like some of the events. I’ll have to try to watch today.
I don’t watch the Olympics usually, but I’m a fan of the equestrian portion if I do turn it on.
I have always loved to watch Synchronized Swimming. Sadly I have not seen it this year. I also enjoy swimming, diving and gymnastics.
Women’s gymnastics, men’s swimming and women’s soccer.
Gymnastics! I was up till nearly 1a.m. watching Nastia Lukin take Gold.
I’m usually all about gymnastics but who can resist watching Michael Phelps swim?
Gymnastics – both mens and womens.
Gymnastics and swimming!! Go Nastia!!!
I love Swimming.
I, along with most it seems, favor gymnastics. However, Michael Phelps is surely the overall sweetheart this year. So, swimming would be my choice along with my new favorite, synchronized diving.
I don’t really watch much Olympics but when I do, I prefer those racing against time.
Swimming! Did you watch Michael Phelps last night….wow!!!
Gymnastics but I have to say that I really have enjoyed watching Michael Phelps swim. That man is incredible!
I guess I’d have to say “reading about it on Twitter” as I haven’t watched it this year at all, or ever for that matter… Someday, I swear.
I like gymnastics, but it’s so subjective and I hate that! but I have LOVED watching the swimming this year!
my whole family is getting into it
I love them all-I have never watched so many sports on TV in one day! I am enjoying the swimming-they are amazing athletes!
Wow! This is a hard one! I would have to say swimming this year! I also love mens b-ball, sand v-ball and gymnastics!!!!
Gymnastics!
I’m a HUGE Women’s Gymnastics fan, but it’s so hard for me to watch this year with all the complaints.
Since I was a little girl, I have loved gymnastics. I also like the diving especially the synch. diving. Plus I am into the men’s swimming this year.
Gymnastics! But I’ve been getting “Phelp fever” and I’ve been watching a lot of swimming during these ‘08 games.
I’m a victim of the networks. Each Olympics there is a hot sport/athlete they spotlight and I get caught up in following them like everyone else.
Anyone remember the archery stud from a few years back? He inspired Geena Davis to take up the sport competitively.
Gimme a compelling story and I’ll watch any of the sports.
Everyone have a great weekend!!!
I love gymnastics!!
I have not really watched any …. cant seem to get into it this year.
Mine used to be gymnastics, but now it is swimming because my son is a very good swimmer. We have olymic dreams for him! But he doesn’t have those same dreams. He dreams of football scholarships.
gymnastics
It use to be women’s gymnastics but now I think its mens swimming!
The gymnastics! I especially love watching Rythmic gymnastics.
Swimming, but then it will be Track and Field!
Gymnastics has always been my favorite, but lately, I have really enjoyed the swimming, also. Unfortunately, I have not gotten to see as much as I wanted to this year.
usually I love the gymnastics but seem to be more into swimming this year…not sure maybe its Micheal, maybe I’m feeling WAY older than the gymnasts
who knows
Swimming and diving – Go Michael Phelps
Swimming!!! Go PHELPS!!!! 2nd is soccer.
I am loving it all but gymnastics and diving are my favorites to watch with volleyball quickly becoming a top favorite. I have never been hooked on the Olympics as I am this time around. I have enjoyed relaxing with hubby and watching every night. It’s been a blast.
I enjoy watching swimming and gymnastics.
Swimming has been amazing. These people act like fish in the water! The strength of the human form is so beautiful and powerful!
I don’t have one favorite. I watch a lot of different sports!
Although I like watching majority of the events (especially swimming and gymnastics), I must say the opening ceremony was the most impressive event I’ve ever seen. It was SPECTACULAR!
gymnastics is my fav
The gymnastics portion of the Olympics is always the best as far as I am concerned, always has, always will.
Respectfully,
Dr Saxe
This year it’s been the swimming & gymnastics. I just loved watching Jonathan Horton & Sasha Artemev do their thing!
Watching the olympics is so nostalgic for me… reminds me of being a kid watching all summer long. I love the swimming and gymnastics the most. Go Phelps! Go Johnson!
Well, this weekend we’re watching more racing than Olympics, but we do enjoy the equestrian sports.
definitely swimming! … waiting for sync swimming!
hey kailani, i’m so amazed at how Aloha Friday has grown. congratulations! can’t wait to re-join once i get my blog schedule back.
Gymnastics, though it scares the crap out of me!
Definitely the gymnastics.
