Our livingroom area rug is so sad looking now. We bought it at Home Depot in 2000 for $77. I’m sure a rug like it would now be up around $100. So that’s what I’d spend it on.

I would use the $100 gift card towards a new front door for our house. The one we have now is very worn and simple. I’d like to have a new one with a bit more character.
When we bought our house in 2004, we bought some tile for the family room. The tile is in there — stacked up, just waiting to be installed. I would love to put the hundred bucks towards hiring someone to lay the tile for us, but if DH still insists on doing it himself, at least we could buy the mortar and grout.
Since leaving the shelter I have not been able to afford curtains for myself or the kids would love to buy curtains with it.
