Magnificent Manicure Kit by Elmers

One of the best things about being a girl is all the girly things we get to do.  And since my daughters are true girls, they were thrilled to receive the Magnificent Manicure Kit by Elmers.

With the Magnificent Manicure Kit girls can learn about cosmetic chemistry, make their own sea salt scrub, create their own custom scent or create their own spa line. They can also turn their hands silky soft in the crystal mud that they make themselves!

OUR REVIEW

When we received our manicure kit, the girls couldn’t wait to get started! I wasn’t sure what to expect but this kit had everything any little girl could want for beautiful hands and feet. It contained ingredients like lotions, bath salts, crystal mud, fragrances as well as various tools like a nail buffer, pumice stone, soaking tray, and toe separators.

A lot of these things were foreign to my young daughters so we started by going through each item and discussing what they were used for. Kiana took special interest in the toe separators. Even though her toes were a little too small, we tried as best as we could to get those separators on. It was pretty funny to see her toes like that. However, as squished as her tiny toes were, these separators made it a lot easier to paint her toe nails. It also kept the polish from going on her other toes while she waited for them to dry.

Kacie, on the other hand, liked making the lotion. The directions were easy for her to follow along without much help from me. What she liked best was the great smell it had. It also made her hands feel really soft and dainty. I was glad to see that there wasn’t an overpowering scent that a lot of childrens lotions seem to have. The lotion was absorbed well into her skin without leaving a greasy feeling

What I liked best about this kit is that it came with pretty much everything I needed. All I had to do is supply simple things that every kitchen should already have. I also liked that the included booklet gave some fun facts about nails as well as asked questions about each experiment. This showed me that Kacie was really comprehending what was going on.

After trying the Magnificent Manicure Kit out for ourselves, I can definitely see why it recently picked up the Creative Child Magazine’s 2009 Toy of the Year Award! Your girls will have a blast by turning your home into her very own nail salon!
