I Want That!

I’m currently sitting in my hotel room in San Diego, watching some infomercial station. I really should be sleeping since I’ve been up since 5am and it’s now almost midnight and I have to get up in 6 hours.

I hate these early “rolling” times because I’m always afraid that I’ll accidentally turn off the alarm and go back to sleep. That’s why I always set 3 alarms and place them far away from the bed so that I’ll have to get up and walk over to turn them off.

Anyway, back to the infomercial. Right now they’re showing one called Maxiglide, a hair straightening tool.

I’ve been lucky to have been born with straight hair. Girlie Girl on the other hand has this one section on the right side of her head that is very frizzy. It’s very noticeable since the rest of her hair is completely flat. Where did she get that from? And why just that one little section? I usually just put a lot of hair spray on it and comb it down. However, it won’t stay like that for long.

Maybe I’m just delirious from the lack of sleep but I’m thinking of getting this for Girlie Girl. Is that crazy?

Have you ever bought something you saw on an infomercial? C’mon, I know you did!

Finally it’s clear why the infomercials run right through the night… you need to be missing out on sleep for them to work :)

I think we’ll have to start Blogaholics Anonymous just for you….. go to sleeeeep

I saw and infomercial one time about doggies steps and I couldn’t wait to see if I found them. Well, never did, but I did a computer search and found them cheaper online.

I did. I’m embarrassed to admit it. I bought this “get rich quick” package scheme about placing tiny ads in magazines/newspapers from this really hot guy, lol. My husband still hasn’t let me live it down.

I also bought a food dehydrater from Ronco … and afterward found out I could get the exact same thing at Wal-Mart for about a 1/3 of the price. lol Live and learn!

You must sleep … you’re getting sleeeeeepy … your eyes are growing heeeeavy …

    hehe

You know, yes…I’m still here, I used to have really straight hair until after birth. Now, I have this funky curls but it’s actually not bad since it gives me some body, even if it’s frizzy.

As for buying something from infomercials, I bought things from those kiosks that also sell on infomercials, like the onion cutter thingy that just sits in the pantry collecting dust.

Can’t think of anything I’ve bought from an advert. Is an infomercial a shopping channel thing? I wasn’t sure. Having said this I LOVE my hair straighteners and would not want to be without them. Ever.

This is why infomercials play late at night, you are only tempted when completely exhausted. Having said that, I also must confess to having serious bouts of insomnia through the years, which is leading to the point of my comment….I have bought more crap from infomercials and QVC than I care to admit. DON”T DO IT. It’s all crap that you will be able to pick up in Wal Mart in 6 months for 75% off.

Jason and I saw an infomercial for the “Titanium II” knife set when we were barely newlyweds, and fell for it hook, line, and sinker. We even bought an extra set to give as a gift…4-6 weeks later, our “titanium” knives, complete with cheap, plastic handles arrived. We haven’t been tempted since.

I’ve never bought anything from the infomercial, but I’ve been tempted…a lot of stuff will be out in the stores eventually. Most of the time I just make note of the website to order it from there…and never get around to looking it up.

I’ve seen those ceramic hair thingies at the mall in one of the kiosks… they’ll let you try it there for free. The sad thing is the last time I went by that kiosk and the gal asked if I wanted to let her show me the product…I had just gotten my hair done right there at the mall. I wonder if she thought my hair looked bad? Or maybe my hair looked so good she thought I must care enough about my hair to use the product. My hair (& DD’s too) is straighter than straight. Won’t take a curl for nuttin. To get my hair to curl you have to moose it and then spray it with super hold hairspray right afterward…other wise the curl falls out before you leave the house.

    1. (not one but) TWO vacuum cleaners.
    2. Proactiv pimple medication
    3. Sheer cover make-up to hide what the proactiv did not work on.

I have really straight hair too
One time I bought a flat iron when I had a perm just so I could have both

    Silly, dontcha think.

Marissa’s friend bought Proactive, and asked me to buy the 30 day trial for her. She loves it. I’d like to buy the Magic Bullet, but I’ve heard good things and bad things.
Sorry I’ve been MIA. Too much going on this weekend.
Hope you’re having a good one.

Yes. when I was pregnant many years ago in a galaxy far far away..

I watched one of those infomercials for raising money for BIAFRA …. kids starving to death.

I was bawling so uncontrollably I couldn’t even make it to the phone. I crawled on my hands and knees and pledge every working dollar I was making to save the children.

I haven’t, but I am sure that I have wanted to before.

I have a few small sections of hair that get this frizzy wave thing going on and I hate it.
