One of Kacie’s favorite type of Nintendo DS games are those that come right off of her favorite television shows. So when we first heard about the new Wizards of Waverly Place: Spellbound, I knew she would be asking for one. Luckily, we had the opportunity to review it for ourselves.
GAME DESCRIPTION
Take a magical adventure with Wizards of Waverly Place: Spellbound, the new Nintendo DS(TM) game that lets fans play as their favorite wizards-in-training, Alex, Justin and Max Russo. Players will embark on a journey through a series of hilarious mishaps as a dress designed by Alex Russo goes missing just before the big fashion show. Fans will be able to take their wizard skills to the next level with cool spells, new outfits and more magic and mayhem than ever before!
MY REVIEW
What I immediately noticed about the game is that it really resembles the actual television show. I know that sounds strange since that’s what it’s based on but believe me, we’ve played other Nintendo DS games that were taken from television shows that look totally unrecognizable. Everything from the characters to the scenes to the music . . . all reminds us of the show.
The game starts off with Alex wanting to design a new dress for the Wizardry Fashion Show but gets into trouble along the way. Through different episodes the kids learn a new spell which helps them solve puzzles and overcome obstacles. They even learn how to turn themselves into hamsters! You can also use your stylus to move at turbo speed or freeze and unfreeze objects.
Of course, Kacie’s favorite part was being able to dress Alex in 25 different outfits. I guess it’s the just fashion designer in her. In any case, Wizards of Waverly Place: Spellbound is a big hit with my daughter and she’s been playing with it every single day!
