The Happy Company Sweet Dreams Collection

Having just gotten back from a trip not that long ago, I know just how hard it is to sleep in a bed that’s not your own. Not to mention taking a nap on an airplane or during a long car trip! It’s practically impossible. The Happy Company has tried to alleviate this little problem with their new Sweet Dreams Collection. These relaxation-based products incorporate aromatherapy, specifically lavender, which is known to work well as a sleep aid and reduce stress and anxiety.

I was provided with a Sweet Dreams Neck Wrap to test out a few weeks back, and I’ve loved using it. It comes in a snug, plastic case that has two little handles on top, making it easy to tote around. My first impression of the wrap is that it has a nice weight to it. It’s filled with flax seed and a soft plush packed with lavender. Oh, lavender… how I love thee! I’d smell it all day if I could. It’s subtle enough that it wouldn’t bother a passenger sitting next to you on an airplane, but strong enough to provide you with its therapeutic benefits.

Besides the lavender scent, my favorite feature is that this wrap is microwaveable. I just have to remove the cover and place it in a (clean) microwave for up to a minute to enjoy a delightful warmth around my neck. It loosens all the tightness in my shoulders, too. The wrap can also be chilled in the freezer!

The 100% cotton, machine-washable pale-lavender outer cover has a sweet pink lamb embroidered on it. I made the mistake of washing and drying the cover to my Boppy nursing pillow once, and then couldn’t get the cushion back in its cover. The reason I bring this up is because the neck wrap is the same shape, but smaller. I made sure to read the directions when I washed it – in the washer in cold water and I let it dry flat – and it didn’t shrink at all. The insert itself isn’t washable, however, so it’s important to always replace the cover right away so it doesn’t get dirty.

The only downside I found with the neck wrap is that it lost a bit of its heat while I tried to put it back into the cover after microwaving it. I don’t mind taking the cover off to wash it, but I’d love to be able to put the wrap in the microwave without having to remove it. But that doesn’t dissuade me from heating it up often, because it feels that good!
