Being a grandparent is one of my greatest joys. I have fond memories of my grandmother and it’s important to me to make precious memories with my grandchildren.
The Grandparents Handbook is delightful. The book is full of ideas for building relationships between grandparents and grandchildren.
There are four sections to make memory making fun and easy.
The first section is Bringing Up Baby: A Grandparent’s Refresher Course. In this section you’ll learn how to kid-proof you house, handle toddler tantrums and among other things, master the task of safely feeding your grandchildren.
Indoor and Outdoor Fun and Games gives details for holding a backyard Olympics and fun activities like four-leaf clover hunting and camping in the great indoors.
I’ve learned you can’t go wrong with Crafts and Cooking. My grandchildren love to make cookies, build gingerbread houses and I’m looking forward to making some bead people. I think we’ll make one to represent each family member!
The Sharing and Exploring the World Together is my favorite section. This week we’re taking our grandchildren to the bank so each can open their own savings account. We’ve taken the kids to New York City by airplane but never on a train. We took a vote and a train ride will be our next big travel activity.
Being a grandparent is a blessing. The time spent with grandchildren is precious and I don’t want to waste one minute of it. Thanks to The Grandparents Handbook I have a seemingly endless source of ideas to fill our time together.
I received a copy of The Grandparents Handbook to review and for the purpose of sharing my candid thoughts.
