Starbucks Bistro Boxes

One day last week, I was so busy running errands that I forgot to eat lunch. Now, this happens more times than you would think but on that particular day I had a PTA meeting that would last until right after dinnertime. I made my usual stop at Starbucks to get a cup of coffee and was looking at all their pastry items when I noticed their new Starbucks Bistro Boxes. That’s when I remembered that I was suppose to review them sometime soon.

This was the perfect opportunity! I took a look at the selections and decided on two boxes – Chipotle Chicken Wraps and Sesame Noodles. At the Starbucks that I was at they also had the Protein Bistro Box and Chicken Lettuce Wraps. It was a difficult decision since they all looked so good!

I really liked the presentation of these Bistro Boxes and how everything was separated into it’s own little compartments. They reminded me of those Japanese Bento Boxes that people take with them to work. I also liked that these are healthy alternatives to their pastry selections and now gives me a choice other than their sandwiches.

The Chipotle Chicken Wraps included Grilled Chipotle‐spiced chicken, fiery pepper jack cheese, soft whole wheat tortillas, lime-cilantro slaw, avocado & roasted tomato salsa, and a piece of premium Starbucks chocolate. I found the items to be soft, fresh, and very tasty. With this Bistro Box, you can make 3 wraps exactly the way you want them. For example, I’m not a fan of cilantro so I left the slaw out and loaded on the avocado salsa instead. Yum!

The Sesame Noodles was my favorite out of the two selections. This box included a Sesame noodle salad tossed with broccoli florets, carrots, red peppers, sugar snap peas and a creamy peanut dressing. It also contained a cucumber carrot salad, crunchy sesame peanuts, baked tofu with lightly spiced lime glaze, and a premium Starbucks chocolate. I liked that the noodles weren’t swimming in dressing and had just the right amount of flavor. The cucumber salad was sliced thin with a lot of crunch. And the baked tofu was a great twist to the way I usually eat them which is right out of the container.

Since I’m always at Starbucks anyway, I think this is a great way to eat healthy on-the-go. I’m just hoping that these Bistro Boxes come to the airport locations soon because these would be great meals for passengers (and flight crews) to take on the plane with them!

I’m glad you reviewed these. I’m always looking for healthy lunch alternatives, and I had seen these but hadn’t taken the plunge to buy them yet. I guess I’ll give them a go now, thanks to you!
