snifflebuddiesitemEverybody has those “things” that gross you out.  I have several (and I won’t confess them all), but one that’s up there on my list is kids wiping their nose with their hands, wrists, sleeve, etc.  You get the picture.  I just think of all those germs.  Aaaaaah!  I have a two-year old and I am trying to teach her to blow her nose with a tissue.  Even the concept of blowing is hard.  We’ve got a ways to go……and that’s why I couldn’t wait for Sniffle Buddies to arrive in the mail.

Sniffle Buddies – “A buddy to catch their sniffles”. I like that phrase, but it’s really appropriate too. Sniffle Buddies are wristbands made of organic cotton and bamboo that children/parents can easily attach with Velcro tabs. They are:

  • Naturally Antibacterial
  • Hypoallergenic
  • Absorbent
  • Eco-friendly

Anyone who’s had a sick child or one with terrible allergies knows just how much that nose can run. It’s bad enough for an adult, but for a toddler/preschooler who hasn’t yet mastered the use of a tissue, it can be messy and not sanitary at all. Instead of wiping his nose with his hand, you can help teach a child to wipe it on  Sniffle Buddies. Yes, it sounds gross, but it’s so much better than the alternative. Really!snifflebuddieskids

My Review: I had planned on using this with my 2 year old daughter during her first winter cold or bad allergy day, but then my nephew visited. He’s 4 years old and trained in using tissues…….but as is often the case when you have a preschooler, he just didn’t like getting up each time to grab that tissue. The day he spent with me I kept noticing him wiping his nose with his hands. I did NOT want him spreading those germs while he was playing with my daughter’s toys. So I kept bugging him to wash his hands after he wiped. ALL DAY LONG.

I decided to break out the Sniffle Buddies. Here was a child who knew how to use a tissue, but his nose really was running so much. We needed an alternative. I helped him put on the wristband and tried to explain how it worked……..just wipe on the cotton wristband, instead of your hands. It worked real well, until…….he BLOWED. Well, my instructions weren’t good enough. Sniffle Buddies are really just to catch those constant drips. So, I immediately took it off and placed it in the wash. Yes, Sniffle Buddies are machine washable. So practical.  I’ll be starting soon with my two-year old…..she’s bound to get a cold this winter.

For adults too: Even adults have been guilty of wiping their nose on their shirt when they are out gardening or skiing, so the makers of Sniffle Buddies have now created them for big people. Not just for noses, they absorb perspiration too.

You can purchase a child sized one for $9.99 + tax….and in various colors too. While we were sent just one, I would suggest ordering two. That way one can be in the washing machine, while one is being worn. You can find them in a few California boutiques, but the easiest way is to shop online from Sniffle Buddies….I even noticed a special promotion going on when I visited.

I think it is about time someone came up with this! What a great idea, I told my hubby I was gonna get him a couple, he has awful allergies, and cannot always get to his hankie. I also think this is great with H1N1 and the seasonal flu around – kids can learn to sneeze into the buddie instead of into the air.
Great review… thanks for letting us know about this product.

has terrible allergies and can not always get to your handkerchief. I also think this is very good with the H1N1 seasonal flu and about – children can learn to sneeze into the air instead Buddie.
