Shake It Up Dance Line by ivivva athletica

ivivva athletica, lululemon athletica’s dance apparel brand for girls, announced the launch of a new dancewear collection for girls in collaboration with Disney Consumer Products. The Shake It Up collection is inspired by the hit Disney Channel series featuring the adventures of Cece Jones and Rocky Blue.

“Shake It Up and its main characters served as the perfect inspiration for our new clothing line,” said Jennie Lam, lead designer for ivivva athletica. “So many girls dream of becoming professional dancers and are inspired by Cece and Rocky. The ‘Shake It Up’ line strikes the right balance between functionality and spirit and meets the needs and desires of girls who want to dance and move in style.”

Influenced by Rocky and Cece’s spirit and energy, the Shake It Up line features fun yet functional gear for active girls. From legwarmers and shorts to jackets and headbands, the collection offers an assortment of athletic apparel and accessories made from technical fabrics in exciting styles and colors.

Being a fan of Shake It Up, Kacie was thrilled for the opportunity to review an outfit from their collection.

Tumbling Tank II *siu ($38) – This cute tank top is super cute! It has a generous fit and comes with racerback straps which means they’ll stay up no matter how much Kacie moves around. I really liked that the straps are reinforced  right where they meet to ensure durability and that the seams are sewn flat so that it’s the most comfortable tank around. Nothing scratchy or pokey with this tank top.

Rhythmic Short II *siu ($36) – This reversible black shorts comes with a colored band on one side and a black band on the other. We like that you can wear it both ways because it gives the impression that Kacie has more dancewear than she actually does. There’s also a small hidden pocket where she can store her locker key. We like that there’s a place in the pocket to write her name inside just in case it gets misplaced in the locker room.

Both items are made from luon fabric (87% nylon and 13% Lycra) which has a very comfortable feel to it. It feels like cotton but also has great stretch to it. This means that the top and shorts move with Kacie and not against her. And if she’s not thinking about what she’s wearing then hopefully she’s concentrating on her class.

And not only can she wear these items as dancewear but she can also wear them as undergarments during her Taekwondo class. She doesn’t like to wear her regular shirt and shorts under her Gi because it gets too hot for her. These items would be the perfect solution!
