My Own Shower Children’s Showerhead Review

My 3-year-old is definitely to the age that she wants to do things like Mommy and Daddy. Whether that means no longer sitting in a booster seat at the dining room table (and having her plate be at shoulder-height), not allowing anyone to help her put her coat on or wanting to take showers instead of baths, she makes every effort to be as much of a big girl as possible.
However, there are some things that have been more of a difficult transition than others. Sitting at the table on a regular chair – easy. Getting used to having the spray of the shower come down directly on her head – hard. Our traditional showerhead is up so high for her that there isn’t really a way to stop the water from coming down too forcefully or getting in her face. We have also tried using our handheld showerhead, but that doesn’t work because there is no way to position it just right. Fortunately, the innovative people at Idea Factory, Inc. have come up with a solution: My Own Shower.
I was able to install the My Own Shower Children’s Showerhead in minutes by simply removing our existing showerhead, screwing on the Rinse Ace Connector and reattaching our showerhead.
When the 3-foot hose to the My Own Shower is not hooked into the connector (it easily twists and locks in place) then the water comes out through the showerhead and adults can shower like normal.
When the My Own Shower Showerhead is attached, however, it can be positioned at any child’s height and uses suction cups to stay securely in place. The water not only sprays out at a better level, but the
flow is softer and more manageable for a child. Plus, what kid wouldn’t like the fact that their shower is coming out of a brightly colored fish’s mouth?
After my daughter was done showering, we were able to either leave the My Own Shower in place for next time or the hose could simply be detached in seconds and stored away for the future. I love the ease and simplicity of this product and the comfort level it has brought to my daughter in her quest to grow up quickly. As it is completely adjustable, we will be able to use it for years to come with her and her younger sister.
My Own Shower Children’s Showerhead is available directly on the Rinse Ace website or at Lowes, Menards, The Home Depot and various other retailers for $15 – $20. If you are looking for a way to ease the stress of the transition from baths to showers in your household, this is definitely a worthwhile investment.

Over at Thanks, Mail Carrier, Xenia and her daughters love the vroooooom sound the mail truck makes when it heads down their block. When they aren’t rushing out to the mailbox to see what came, they spend their days visiting fun places, playing with great friends and enjoying the peace and quiet of nap time. Stop by and say hi! |

My daughter has one of these and loves it. We have had it a few months and she has s tome of fun splashing around in the spray.
