Long John Silver’s

I was fortunate to receive some Long John Silver’s gift certificates, so DH and I headed to the Long John’s Silver in Mililani (which is paired with A&W All American Food) to grab some lunch earlier in the week.

Inspired by Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic book Treasure Island, the company was founded in 1969. Long John Silver’s invented the quick-service seafood restaurant, consistently setting trends with menu items that meet contemporary tastes.

Long John Silver’s has a rich history of serving real meals featuring batter-dipped fish, chicken and shrimp, along with fries, coleslaw and hushpuppies.

We went through the drive-thru, and DH ordered a Fish and Chicken Plank Combo, and I orIMG_0423dered a Chicken Plank Platter.  DH’s meal came with a drink, my meal came with coleslaw, and both of our meals came with fries and hushpuppies.

The Chicken Planks were delicious.  I loved the chicken—the batter was nice and crispy, and the chicken was moist on the inside.  I ate all three planks dipped in some homemade honey mustard sauce, but they also taste fine as is!  The fries and hushpuppies were good too, but the coleslaw seemed a little too watery, and I only took one bite before asking DH if he wanted to eat it (he didn’t want it either).

DH really enjoyed his chicken and fish as well.

Although the drive-thru service was pretty slow (there were no cars ahead of us and we were there before 11am), overall DH and I both thought the food was good, and the prices were fairly reasonable.  I would definitely head there again to enjoy more of their chicken planks!

Thank you to Long John Silver’s for the gift certificates!ljs
