lego1What kid doesn’t love Legos? I know I’ve been a big fan ever since I was a child and my girls have grown to love them, too. Who would have thought that a bunch of simple looking blocks could be so much fun! We recently had the opportunity to review LEGO: The Adventure of Clutch Powers and have been watching it every day since.

DVD DESCRIPTION

For the first time ever, see the creative world of LEGO® come to life in the all-new feature-length DVD movie. Meet Clutch Powers, the best builder and explorer in the LEGO®universe as he heads off on his most dangerous mission yet. Join Clutch and his team of LEGO®experts as their adventure leads them from LEGO® City to the Space Police prison planet to the medieval world of Ashlar where they must help the rightful heir to the King’s throne find the courage to regain the kingdom from the evil wizard Mallock the Malign. Their brick-building skills will be put to the ultimate test as they face off against Mallock’s skeleton army. Get ready for an action-packed adventure like nothing you have ever seen before, The Adventures of Clutch Powers!

OUR REVIEW

At first I wasn’t sure how much my girls would like this DVD since they’re not familiar with the characters. However, I had nothing to worry about. Once it started playing, the girls were glued to the television set. It was pretty cool to see the LEGO creations and characters come to live in this animated film. There were also some really funny moments like when one of the characters got stuck in a car or when they built a structure without using the directions and ended up with a left over piece.

The only downside is that it contained a few words that I don’t allow my girls to use. I think that more appropriate words could have been used instead. I did talk to my daughters after the video was over to make sure they knew that you do not call anyone an idiot or stupid.

Other than that, we loved the movie. The storyline was involved enough to keep Kacie interested and funny enough to catch Kiana’s attention. It’s so hard these days to find videos that they can both enjoy. We’re looking forward to many more LEGO movies!

This post was written for LEGO and Universal Studios who provided the complimentary DVD in exchange for my honest review.
