However, with all the varieties my kids have played with I found that they were all pretty much the same. There’s a padded mat, bars over the top, and dangling toys. So what makes the Infantino Twist & Fold Activity Gym different?

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Unique twist and fold action makes using and storing gym easy! Pops up in one simple motion and folds down for easy storage or travel. Comes with 4 linkable toys and bolster pillow for tummy time. Encourages reaching and engages baby’s senses.

OUR REVIEW

Thanks to Mom Central, we received Infantino’s newly released activity gym and was excited to try it out. Since Kaila has started to crawl around, the only time she’s on her back for a period of time is when she’s drinking from her bottle. I wasn’t sure how useful the Twist & Fold would be for us outside of that function but it looked like such a fun piece of baby equipment.

Setting it up was easy. I just attached the ends of the bars to the corners of the mat by snapping together the buckles located underneath. I like that this pieces are kept invisible from the top because it give the gym a cleaner look and prevents babies from trying to play with it. Then I attached the toys from the bars using the attached fabric loops. The great thing is that there are so many loops to choose from. There are some lower on the bar for babies to reach for during “tummy time” and there are more loops closer to the top to encourage  babies to reach up higher.

In Kaila’s case, since she spends most of her time sitting up she really liked the toys that were more at eye level. Surprisingly, she really took an interest in this activity gym and kept coming back over and over to play with it. She seemed to like the brightly colored soft animals and kept trying to chew on them. When she lost her grip, the animals would sway back and forth causing her to laugh hysterically. It was so fun to watch!

With a twist of a knob, the entire thing folds up and can be easily put back in it’s box for storage or to take to Grandma’s house. All the activity mats that I’ve used in the past had to be either taken apart or folded up like a car’s sunshade in order to transport. It was such a pain in the butt that I just preferred not to use one.

Thanks to Infantino, Kaila has another cool toy to play with. The bright patchwork patterns and toys really attract her attention and we have a lot of fun talking about colors, shapes, and animals. Well, I do the talking and she just drools, but she’s always smiling so I know she’s having fun, too.

I am a participant in a Mom Central campaign for Infantino and have received various Infantino products to as part of my participation.
