Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus Best of Both Worlds 3D Movie

I’ve never been a big fan of Hannah Montana – not the show, not the music, not the merchandise.

So when the Best of Both Worlds 3D Concert Movie came to town, I didn’t give it a second thought. That is, until Girlie Girl found out about it and pleaded with me to take her. What’s a Mom to do? So, I ordered our tickets through Fandango.com, printed out the confirmation, and we were all set.

Luckily, because it was a school day for most of the state (Girlie Girl’s track is on a break) the theater wasn’t very crowded and we were able to get prime seats. The 3D glasses were actually pretty cool and looked like regular sunglasses. Remember when they used to be made of cardboard with red & blue cellophane for each eye? Boy, we’ve sure come a long way.

Anyway, I am happy to report that I am now a fan of Hannah Montana’s music. Her energetic performance was filled with thought-provoking songs and cool dance moves. Her wardrobe was stylish yet conservative, something you don’t see too much of anymore.

They also showed behind-the-scenes rehersals and interviews which help you get a feel for the real Miley Ray Cyrus. She does’t seem spoiled or diva-like. In fact, she’s very close with her family and really incorporates them into her shows. She treats everyone from the musicians, to the dancers, to the stage hands like they’re her best friends. I have a new found respect for her and can see why she’s so popular with the younger crowd and parents alike.

I still don’t think I’ll be watching her show or paying $1000 for concert tickets but I’m definitely downloading the CD from iTunes!

Spotlight Comment from Cathi of Pinkjagxj:

My oldest son’s employer owns 4 box seats at the Anaheim Pond. He keeps them as PR for big clients. Our kids are able to use them quite often however when the Hannah Montana concert came to town every client plus some were calling to use/buy/rent the seats. He not having any youngsters at home was surprised that Hannah was in more demand then any sporting event or entertainment event. To be honest, that’s when I realized the popularity of Hannah even though I was familiar with her. Wow! I think she’s the best thing that ever happened to her dad’s career.

First of all, Girlie Girl is adorable! Secondly, I have an 18-year old son, so Hannah Montana is not even on the radar in my house. However, I have managed to sneak a peek at a couple of episodes out of curiousity sake, and because I have remain cool to my 9-year old niece! It’s a pretty good show, actually.

And I have to be honest….I am SO glad that Emma is too young for Hannah Montana and all those other Disney shoes. They drive me nuts!

My daughter loves Hannah Montana too. I am impressed with how Billy Ray Cyrus is keeping his daughter’s feet on the ground. I hope he continues to do so.

Look like you’re hooked. I don’t have kids yet, but I can’t imagine what it’s like when something like sweeps though and has kids across the country begging to go to over priced concerts and movies.

I have to admit I like her music, too. My 5-year-old loves Hannah Montana, but doesn’t even watch her show! She’s more into the music. She wants a Hannah Montana toy guitar we saw the other day at Target. ;)

Sounds like you had a great time!

We don’t have the Disney channel so Hannah isn’t driving me nuts here. DD does like to belt out the theme song sometimes as she has seen the show a little.
We have a friend who is “gaga” over Hannah, but DD says she prefers it when she is dressed like Miley.
I looked at taking her, but she’s not interested in blowing that much money on a ticket.

Have I said how much I love this child? (yeah, she has another new Webkinz instead.)

My girls are just starting to get into this phase – my Hannah is becoming a huge Hannah Montana fan, so I’ve watched the show a few times to see what it’s all about. I do like the music too and think that all in all it’s not a bad show – there are definitely much worse ones out there.

Love the picture – Girlie Girl is adorable! :)

My girls are too old for this BUT they also “just like her music”! :) I heard one on the radio the other day, & I have to agree.

I do think that she’s a much better choice to go nuts over, considering the other celebs out there! Hopefully she will remain grounded.

By the way, GG looks much older in that picture. So cute.

As a theater mom, I was disappointed with the amount of backstage stuff. I think that would have been interesting to incorporate more of that into the movie. If I wanted to see the actual concert, I would have sold a kidney and possibly part of my liver to go to that.
It wasn’t worth the $48 it cost for the kids and I to go. :(

We took our boys on Saturday, and we really enjoyed it, too. I love that Miley and the Jonas Brothers both come from Christian families and seem to really want to be positive role models. It’s a refreshing change after all the stars of kids movies who aren’t exactly living a life you want your kids to emulate.

Yeah I don’t think I’ll ever get into Hannah Montana, although I really do like that she’s pretty down to earth and involves her family in so much.

that’s pretty slick. That’s cool that you like it though!

I hate to say I know most of the songs and actually don’t mind them. It’s too funny that my girls think Billy Ray Cyrus is soooo cool when I can remember when he was a one hit wonder! They want to see him in concert just as much as Miley.

No, we will not be paying primo price for tickets to see Miley either but we did enjoy the movie a lot. I took off work early and took them to the early show on the premiere night here….we had a blast!!!

Oh Girly Girl, my goodness she’s so beautiful! I’m with you on the tickets, and I’m very relieved my daughter is too old. Otherwise, we’d have one very disappointed little girl.

You’re so right, we don’t see enough examples of being stylish yet conservative. I’m glad you pointed that out–it’s almost a lost art. xo

We’ve watched the show from the beginning, my almost 8 yr old loves it. Shoot, who am I kidding we all enjoy the show, even my almost 4 year old son sings the song as it comes on! LOL!!
I took my dd to see the ‘movie’ hte other day too and we had a great time. I was impressed with her wardrobe too, it was cute but yet not too revealing and such for a young teen girl, and she makes a decent role model for my dd to ‘latch onto’.
We’ve got both CD’s and the Miley Cyrus one too so we hear the music in our van often!

I didn’t understand why the media was giving her such a hard time for using a body double in her show, for less than a minute, for a costume change. She’s only 15! How many 15 year olds can do what she does?

Are you kidding? Young girls aren’t the only ones who like Hannah. I’m a 23 year old male in college (not gay for the record) and my friends, boys and girls alike all watch Hannah Montana, well almost all Disney shows for that matter. It is nice to take a break from all the social atrocities most of us have to deal with, and watch a light hearted yet funny show sans violence and cussing.

Miley is truly the pop queen these days. I remember Walmart giving out the 3D glasses for this, and I have to admire the marketing behind her celebrity these days. They’ve moved away from the controversial Vanity Fair photos, and are now focusing on Miley as a pop celebrity. Wise move Disney.
