Fruit Simple Fruit Smoothie

During one particularly healthy period in my life, I made fruit smoothies every other day. I really enjoyed drinking them, and it felt so good to start the day off with something healthful. Then my blender broke while I was making pumpkin pie puree, and I got out of the habit. I still buy smoothies at coffee shops sometimes, but not very often since the cost adds up – and I miss having them regularly.
So when Fruit Simple sent me a few bottles of their fruit smoothie drink to try out, I was excited to see what it would be like. These aim to be a pre-made smoothie in a bottle, with two servings of fruit per 8oz glass. The drink comes in four flavors: Strawberry Banana, Pomegranate Blueberry, Orange Mango, and Mixed Berry. The first one I sampled was the Orange Mango – I love mango juice, so I couldn’t wait to try it. I usually buy a carton of mango juice when I’m feeling under the weather, because it always seems to make me feel better. Next time I feel sick, this is the drink that I want; it’s the best mango juice that I have tasted. The flavor is delicious, and it has none of the tart citric tang that orange juices usually have. I can’t drink too much pre-packed OJ because the citric acid bothers my throat. Fruit Simple’s orange-mango blend tastes more like fresh-squeezed juice, with none of the unpleasant tartness that most carton juice has.
The next flavor I tried was Strawberry Banana. This is absolutely delicious and really does taste like a thick, creamy smoothie – I loved it. The Mix Berry was too tart for me, but my fiancé really liked it, and said that the taste reminded him of yogurt. The Pomegranate Blueberry tasted the least like a smoothie, and more like a cranberry juice; this one was our least favorite.
My fiance and I both enjoyed trying Fruit Simple, and I was most impressed with the Orange Mango and Strawberry Banana flavors – these two in particular are among the best juice I’ve had. For those of us who enjoy fruit smoothies but lack the time (or blender!) to make them, this is a quick alternative that can be grabbed while on the go.
