Dora Saves the Crystal Kingdom Premiers Nov 1st

With Kiana being a big Dora fan, we’ve been anxiously watching the previews of the premier of Dora Saves the Crystal Kingdom on Nickelodeon. So when we had the opportunity to check out this episode ahead of time, we jumped at the chance.

In “Dora Saves the Crystal Kingdom,” Dora continues her magical storybook adventure from last fall (“Dora Saves the Snow Princess”), when the magic crystal that the Snow Princess gave her brings to life another character in her storybook – Allie of the Crystal Kingdom. A greedy king has stolen the crystals that give Allie’s kingdom color and Dora and Boots must help Allie locate the crystals and turn the pale gray kingdom back into a colorful wonderland before it’s too late. Along the way, the trio gain help from a British knight, a giant caterpillar and a magician who give Dora three gifts – a shield, butterfly wings and a magic wand – to aid in her journey. Using these presents, Dora attempts to defeat the greedy king and restore color to the kingdom.

This new hour-long primetime TV special premiers on Sunday, Nov. 1, at 8:00 p.m. (ET/PT). The episode will encore on Nickelodeon on Monday, Nov. 2, at 9 a.m. (ET/PT) and on Nick Jr (*formerly named NOGGIN) on Sunday, Nov. 8, at 7 p.m. (ET). In third quarter 2009, Dora the Explorer is the top preschool show on all of commercial television.

Kiana really enjoyed watching this episode and I have to admit that I did, too. We loved all the vibrant colors and the beautiful crystals. It looked great on our HDTV! And the fact that the episode focused on the virtues of sharing, this enjoyable DVD was also very educational. Of course, one the main features of any Dora show is the bi-lingual lessons. I feel it’s so important for children to learn a second language and thanks to Dora, Kiana has gained a real interest in learning Spanish.

So don’t forget to tune into Nickelodeon on November 1st to catch the premier of Dora Saves the Crystal Kingdom!
