I love to eat great food, but sometimes it’s all the prep work that takes the fun out of cooking for me….the shopping, thawing, and extra time. I’m guessing that I’m not the only one. A brand new and unique cookbook, Cooking with All Things Trader Joe’s, helps readers make gourmet meals out of the healthy and fresh ingredients that can be found at a popular grocery store, Trader Joe’s.

Many of you might be fortunate to have a Trader Joe’sin your neighborhood. They can be found all across the country, but I’m still waiting for one in Texas. It’s one of the fastest growing grocery stores and I love that they try everything before they decide to sell it. You’ll find all the basic foods at Trader Joe’s along with more exotic and organic foods. The best part is their guarantee. If you don’t like a product they sell, they’ll give you a full refund…no questions asked. So, it’s no wonder that authors, Deana Gunn and Wona Miniati, created their cookbook around Trader Joe’s – you can find it all under one roof (makes for easier shopping).

While friends Deana and Wona were separated by miles, they soon discovered a shared passion for cooking and shopping at Trader Joe’s and developed the idea for Cooking with All Things Trader Joe’s. They wanted to provide easy dinner ideas for busy moms, single adults, college students, and really anyone who enjoys cooking (and shopping at Trader Joe’s). But don’t think you have to have a local Trader Joe’s to enjoy this cookbook. You can easily use the recipes in the cookbook no matter where you shop…..they just know you can find all the ingredients at Trader Joe’s.

I’m a huge fan of cookbooks which feature photos of every recipe, and that’s exactly what I found with this cookbook. Most of the recipes in this 272-page book, seem quite simple and healthy, but seem fitting for entertaining guests. I’ll soon be trying the Dress to Impress Lobster Ravioli and the Balsamic Green Beans – yummy. You’ll find recipes in the following categories:

  • Appealing Appetizers
  • Soups, Salads, & Light Meals
  • Main Meals
  • On the Side
  • Delicious Desserts & Daring Drinks
  • Begin with Breakfast
  • Bachelor Quickies (this is a great section)

What a Christmas gift this would be to many on your list! Be sure to follow Cooking with Trader Joe’s on Twitter, where you’ll find links to special recipes and holiday ideas!

Trader Joe is near my daughter’s house in Portland OR — so I have the opportunity to visit when I drive there.

    I love that place.
