Oh Where, Oh Where, Has That Little Phone Gone?

July 27, 2007

Okay people, I’ve lost my cell phone and I’m in a state of panic.

As most of you already know, I have an unnatural attachment to my phone. Can you blame me? It’s not your every day ordinary cell phone. It’s a Palm Treo Smartphone that DH gave me for Christmas. It’s the phone that introduced me to blogging (more about that another time). It’s my internet away from home when my laptop can’t make the trip. It’s my security blanket. Okay, maybe I’m being a little dramatic there.

In any case, it’s gone.

I’ve tried to retrace my steps but so far it hasn’t helped. I do know I had it for sure last weekend when I was in San Diego because I used it as an alarm. I’m pretty sure I had it when I was sitting in the terminal in Maui the next day. I thought I took it out of my flight bag on the drive home in case DH called. The rest is a blur.

Well, I’m off the tear the house apart. I’m leaving no toy unturned. Wish me luck!

How long would you last without your cell phone?

Ack!! Good luck! They’re so small and valuable, I can’t imagine losing one like that.

I would be just fine without my cell. I only recently got one last year when I had my 3rd baby, and we decided that I really shouldn’t be on icy roads without a method to save ourselves. Of course, I do forget it at times…

Anyway. Good luck!

Have you called the hotel you stayed at in case you left it there? Is it possible you left it on the plane? Have you checked under the cars seat, or in the trunk, or your luggage bag?
I hope you find it.

Good luck, Kailani - even though I don’t use it a heck of a lot, I am totally paranoid about losing my cell phone, always checking my purse, bag, whereever I am to make sure it’s still there. Heaven forbid if I ever actually lost the thing!

Oh man! I hope you find it soon! I’m not completely attached to my phone, unless I’m on vacatation and it’s my only access to the internet.

No my computer, that’s another story…

Look in the least likeliest place for it. Since my cell phone is sucky, i could go weeks without it.

Can you call yourself and see if you can hear the ring?

I hope you find it.

If the rest of the world would give up their cell phones, I’d have no problem ridding myself of the nuissance. :)

Oh no! Sending good luck dust your way. Ironically we lost dh’s phone this morning. We could hear it vibrating but couldn’t find it. It fell down the side of the couch while he was watching a show with kids on his lap last night! Here’s hoping you find yours soon!

Hugs,
Holly

Whenever I’ve lost my cell phone I give it a call from the home phone. I usually hear it ringing in an odd place in the house, usually having been deposited there by a child. :)
Hope you find it soon!

I could give up my cell phone in a heartbeat. I only use it to see if we need milk while I’m driving home. Last time I lost my phone I went about a month without while we waited for me to be eligible to get the free phone when we renewed our Verizon contract.

I couldn’t go very long. I don’t have a landline, just my cell phone so it’s the only way people can get a hold of me!

I could go forever without mine…course you already knew that…as I HATE my phone.

The other day I noticed that I had two messages on my voice mail. So I waited until I had time at home to answer them (as they didn’t have a phone number attached to them) So glad I called from home because both “messages” were someone who called my number and just recorded whatever was going on in the background of their life…I wonder if it might have been a kid. There was no voice and I don’t know anyone who has my number who would speed dial it accidentally. Oh well.

I’m not really attached to my cell at all. I leave it in the car all the time, even when I’m home. I would panic though if I actually lost it. I have a lot of stuff stored on it. Hope you find yours!

It’s a Communist plot.

First they get us hooked on their fun little electronic devices, then they take over the world.

I LOATHE cell phones. I do not have one and if you gave me one I’d give it away.

Hey…wait a minute, what’s this cool looking…?

Um, never mind.

I’ve lost mine before… but usually just here in the house… so, I call the number and then run frantically through the house listening for it. Sad, I know… good luck finding it.

For years I was a Treo fan. (Until, you know, the iPhone.) I went through the 600, 650, and 700p! It does everything! I didn’t know how I’d live without it, so I can imagine how you feel.

I have a cell phone and a separate Palm Pilot If I lost either, I would be a withering mess. I left the Palm Pilot at home because I have the laptop with me, but the Palm Pilot is almost always with me. When i leave home without it, I schedule NOTHING, not even a lunch date until I get my hands back on it. I’ve had a Palm Pilot for 10 years, and I can’t imagine going back to a paper calendar.

Oh dear! Well… honestly… I could last quite awhile — cuz I have a house phone. But have you tried calling it? From a neighbor’s or something?

Hope you find it! Check any of the girls little purses. Katelyn did that to me one time. Hd my makeup, one of my credit cards and my cell phone all in the purse. Just like her mama!

I use my home phone more. My cell phone is only for emergencies, when I’m on the road, so I could go quite awhile.

OH NO!! I hope you find it soon!

Please tell me you have found it now!

I know the feeling as mine was stolen at an airport in the medal detection area. The worst part is that I have everyone’s numbers stored in it and don’t have a back-up. Couldn’t call anyone from any other phone since I didn’t know their numbers.

Goodluck! I hope you find it. Call your own number and hope you did not put it in silent mode!!

I’d go crazy without a cellphone too, no matter how outdated mine is.

Just kidding.
Hope it turns up

I don’t use mine too much. I just have it in my purse for emergencies, or to make quick calls on the way to work or back (it’s hard to make calls at home with little boys around). I use it for long distance calls–it’s cheaper than the land line. I don’t make too many calls, though.
