Look Who’s Coming For Dinner

March 8, 2007

I saw this question over at Club Mom and thought it was really interesting.

If you had a choice, who would you invite to your house for dinner? Oprah, Ellen, or Rachel Ray?

I think I would have to go with Ellen. I really enjoy watching her show and she seems like a genuinely nice person. And besides that, she’s hilarious. Can you just imagine sitting down to dinner with her? Talk about a fun evening!

What about you? Who would you invite and why?

I think Ellen would be hilarious! I would have Mike Myers. I think he is hilarious with all his different accents and stuff. I love that man!

I think I would have Oprah - hands down. I would love to hear the stories of all the places she has been and about her new school in South Africa. Then it would be about the meeting she had with all the women she honored and the spirituals they sang. etc….

Hhhm, it would have to be between Oprah and Ellen for me. I’m don’t care for Rachel Ray and I’m not sure why. Too bubbly, perhaps?

Anyhoo, Oprah would be FASCINATING to listen to. I can just imagine the stories! Not to mention, the contacts she might have *nudgenudge*.

But Ellen would be a hoot. I’ve always loved her. There’s something real about her. And of course, she’s absolutely hilarious. She’s one of those people who are just naturally funny, without really meaning to be!

I’ll have to go with Ellen. Because I love to laugh and I can sort of relate to her on some non-lesbian level. *smile*

Those are the only 3 I have to pick from? Then Ellen. She’d make me laugh.

That is tough. I admire all those women. I think that Ellen is genuinely funny and Oprah is an amazing woman. But Rachel just makes me smile. She is such a bubbly upbeat person. So I guess I would pick her.

If those are the only picks, I would have to say Ellen. I’d rather have a fun dinner with and laugh till I cry, than to tell my life’s history.

Ellen, hands down.
She’s just sarcastic enough to make me laugh. And she’d understand my sarcastic sense of humor. I’d rather have her than my MIL who after 15 yrs of marriage STILL can’t figure out that when I make a joke, I’m not slamming her. I can’t even be myself around her, because if I am I’m likely to offend her unknowingly and it will come back to bite me in the butt 6 months later when she brings it up!!
So give me Ellen, any day! :)

That’s easy for me… Rachel! She would cook, it would be done in 30 min and we could then talk! Oh and she likes dogs and kids too.

And since she doesn’t bake…Desert would be Girl Scout cookies and she would love it. :)

Ellen of course. And then I’d make a fool of myself by quoting lines from Nemo to her all night long and laughing at myself. She’s the FUNNIEST person.

I love Rachael but the humor thing trumps the ability to cook. Plus with a great cook to dinner I’d constantly worry about the quality of my cooking.

Oprah, no. Never really liked her. She’s nice enough but she’d have to be in control of the whole dinner.

While it would be an honour to have Oprah over for dinner, I don’t think I’d feel all that comfortable with her around. I’d feel like she was too much.

As for Rachel Ray, well, while I used to like her stuff, and watched her shows all the time, I really have to take her in small doses. She’s a bit too bubbly. And does she have to say “extra virgin olive oil” everytime after saying EVOO? Why use the acronym then?

Ellen is just like your best friend, and you want to invite her over.

Orpah, hands down. Rachael, while it would be nice if she was COOKING the dinner and bringing it, I don’t think I could handle her in person. I don’t mind watching her show, and we are addicted to it. But in person, she would be WAY too much for me because I would view her as competition. I could never view Oprah that way. And Ellen … well, I would have to say she would come in a close second.

Ellen would be a riot. I think that Oprah would think she was doing me a favor and Rachel Ray would sit right down and laugh along side of us.

Umm Rachel Ray. I’d make her famous, now my famous Red Clam Sauce. Yummo!

It’s a tough one between Ellen and Rachel. Ellen for her laughs, but I think Rachel is more a personality I’d relate too. I’d love to cook dinner in 30min with her, and listen to all her stories of her travels and favorite restaurants.

I think I would have to go with Ellen as well. She makes me laugh everytime I see her! And besides, I cant go with Rachel, my husband thinks she’s too cute ;) LOL And Oprah is out of the question, I’d feel like I was betraying Kukka-Maria!!!! Have a wonderful day :)

Can I have what’s behind the curtain, Monte? I don’t think any one of these three would like to eat what I like and I also think they are too self-absorbed to be good company during a meal.
