Now it my family’s turn. We’ve been taking Girlie Girl to Disneyland every year since she was 1 year old. It’s no wonder that she loves all the Princesses. I remember last year when we were on a quest to get every single Princesses’ autograph. By the end of our trip we had all but one . . . Mulan. So what did we do? We canceled our plans and stayed an extra day just to stake out California Adventure Park in hopes that we’d find her. Our efforts were definitely rewarded when Mulan made her rare appearance and completed the autograph book.
This year will be Baby Bug’s first time to the Magic Kingdom and I can hardly wait to introduce her to all the wonderment that surrounds this magical place. It’s an unbelievable feeling to be able to see Disneyland through a child’s eyes. It kind of makes you feel like a kid again, too.Where was your family’s favorite vacation spot?

the beach… every spring break we’d head to the Oregon coast.
fly kites, build bonfires, eat KFC on the sand, dig, collect, listen to the waves at night. Mostly do nothing and love the heck out of it.

another beach bummer here =)
At the end of our first year in dubai, my skin will look like the anti-spam word required here (chocolate)
…next year will be our daughter’s first trip to Tokyo Disneyland, though.
10:51 am
Disney Land…what fun memories. I used to live in Huntington Beach, Ca. so we visited the place a few times. Im glad your daughter got all the autographs, thats cool.
Our family growing up didnt vacation much. We did go to the Jersey Shore a few years with my grandmother, and it has been something we as a family now have done for quite a few years. This year unfortunately we arent going.
We started taking the kids to a different zoo every year now, in different states, and expereincing what that particular town has to offer. The kids seem to enjoy this, as do we.

We go to Rehoboth Beach in Delaware. My Dad has been going since he was 11, and I have been going since I was born, now we as a family go every year. We missed a year when I was pregnant with J, but I think we are going to try to get a visit in this year even though I am pregnant. We will just go early. We could go somewhere else, but then we might be disappointed and we couldn’t stop in to see my Aunt and Uncle and enjoy some peach pie and fried chicken.
I think we will try and do Disney (Florida) in a couple of years, I have never been and can’t wait.

being from a large family with limited means, when I was young vacations were always within driving distance. Usually a lake or once in a while New England coast. When I was able to bring my boys to Disney World the first time I was so happy, now we go every couple years. I would say Orlando and Kona are tied for our family’s fav spots.
12:51 pm
I lived near Disney World for several years. I got so burned out that my older two have only been there once and the younger two have never been there. We like Seaworld better.
But I’m happy for you. Enjoy your trip!

Our favorite vacation spot is also Disneyland! We have family in the area, so we visit them, too, which helps take the bite out of flying 5 people from the East Coast. We were just at Disneyland in November and our children are already plotting their next trip.
1:15 pm
hope you have a lovely time - just dropped by to say you’re nominated for a thinking blogger award on my blog.
1:26 pm
Have a wonderful time! I don’t remember the last time we went on vacation anywhere, I guess our vacations are trips down the coast to visit in-laws.
1:37 pm
We are in Florida, so my kids were practically born & raised in Disney WORLD!
I was born here as well, so I grew up going to DW many times. But it was totally different when we took our kids.
By the way, I used to work for a cruise line and my girls were also trained in running to the gangway. They also knew that sometimes, we wouldn’t get on. One time this man did not get confirmed and he was TICKED! Throwing bags out the door and all. My 7 year old asked me : “Didn’t his mommy tell him that he might not be able to go?”
1:40 pm
Our spot is Walt Disney World. We own the Disney time share there. People laugh because we have annual passes and we live in Ohio!
But we love Disney Cruise Line too!
We’ll actually be in WDW when you are at DL!
It is a small world, after all!
2:05 pm
When I was growing up in Florida, I made the trip to Walt Disney World numerous times. In fact, I think I’ve visited the place more than 50 times. Since I’ve married and had kids and moved out west, we’ve taken the kids to Disneyland just twice, but we hope to make the trip again soon.
We don’t really have a favorite vacation spot as a family since we go a new place every year or so, and some years we don’t take a vacation (hubby’s changing job frequently means limited vacation time). Sometimes our best vacations are impromptu day-trips around here.
My personal votes for favorite vacation spots would be Disney World, San Diego, Seattle, and San Francisco.
2:16 pm
My family never really left the state of VA, but we did educational trips around the state - and DC. We enjoyed them, though, and even a few times went to VA Beach.
Do you know that I didn’t make it to Disney World until I was in college? What a deprived life I led.
Your girls are so lucky that you take them to Disney. We’ll expect lots of princess photos.
3:08 pm
You know, I’m not particular on where we go. As long as we are together.
One year we rented a cabin near Rocky Mountain National Park and had a great time hiking and doing stuff up there.
The next year we went to Disneyland and dd had a ball. She wanted to go back again and again!
Then we went to FL to see my Mom and Busch Gardens…I think we liked Lowery Park better.
Then to Frankenmuth, MI (DH’s hometown) for a family reunion
And then to Williamsburg VA.
This year we’ll be going to Frankenmuth for the wedding and may go to FL to see Mom as she is getting cranky. LOL! If we can swing it, we may go to Disney World too.
3:26 pm
There is something magical about Disneyland. I remember it from my own childhood and we took both kids on their birthdays two years ago. The only thing that makes it better is actually being there on their birthday! It was so much fun. We thoroughly loved the Disney Cruise as well.
I’d say our favorite vacation is the beach and beach house for a full week. We’ve been on the countdown since tickets were confirmed a few months ago. We’ll be in NYC for July 4th and spend the entire next week with all of my husband’s family at the Long Beach Island shore. Can’t wait!!
Hugs,
Holly

I’m so sad to say that I’ve NEVER been to Disneyland. Maybe some day. Your girls are so lucky to be able to enjoy that. How exciting. Maybe I should go apply at the airlines? LOL!
6:36 pm
Say Hi to Mickey Mouse for me!
Growing up in Orange County, not 10 minutes from Disneyland, when Marissa was born, I bought annual passes, and took her all the time. She doesn’t remember, but loves looking at all the pics. We had some very Magical memories, that I will never forget.
7:25 pm
One of my favorite vacations was actually one that got ruined
We had planned to go to Seattle… we were going to go to the zoo and the Space Needle and several museums and best of all Pikes Place Market! So excited! We got on our way and there was a big snow storm that closed Snoqualmie pass. At first we decided to go home. Kids and myself in tears, hubby suggests that we take a back road and go to Portland, OR. So, we did. We went to the zoo and then the next day we went to the beach. I had never seen the ocean before (I was about 25) and so it was an amazing experience for me. We took an extra day so that we could stay in a little hotel and fall asleep to the sound of the waves… so FUN!
7:30 pm
Disneyland is the only Disney park I’ve ever been to, and that was when I was five years old! I remember loving it though, and I had my picture made with Snow White in a pose a lot like that one above. It’s a frequently told family story how I accidentally peed on the Dumbo ride that trip.
10:15 pm
I’ve been to DisneyWorld, but not DisneyLand. I wonder how different they are. I always loved DisneyWorld and I love Universal Studios too. It’s so neat that you are able to do that every year. I’m sure you’ll take lots of pictures!!!
11:36 pm
Any where in Florida. We (my parents and grandparents) finally picked a spot on the gulf near Sarasota and we have been going there for years. This is my vacation with my mom…with my dad it’s Vegas. Every October. I love both places but we are ready to start visiting other places around the country now. I do plan to take The Boy to Disney World this winter. It will be his first time. Exciting!
3:39 am
Oh, we love Disney (World) !! Hope you guys have a blast. Our family’s regular spot to visit is Wisconsin Dells. They have lots of water park resorts and it’s only 3 hours from home.
4:52 am
Oh the last time we went to California Lillian slurped the tide pool water at SeaWorld, got some bug and ended up deathly sick for the remainder of the trip. What a vacation.
I’m sure yours will be lovely! How fun for you.
6:33 am
I dream of taking my son to Disneyland or Disney World someday. I’m sure he would love to see his favorite characters like Buzz Light Year, Woody and Lightning McQueen.
We love going to the beach. Yohan loves playing in the sand while Jules and I love snorkeling.
6:44 am
This is off topic but just wanted to thank you for the comment you left on my blog regarding “Friends Gone Astray.” I agree, the incident brought back painful memories because there is a question mark hanging in the air. I do hope I can get re-acquainted with Pauline in the near future
3:43 am
I love Disneyland too . . and my daughter is just an excuse so that I can go and sit in on the princess story time.
It was sure neat when my brother was dating someone working there . . free passes is really the only way we can afford to go . .
So at the moment my brother and she are on a ‘break’ . .and so are we. But I’ll be happy to live vicariously through all and any photos you take while there!

5:31 am
We don’t go to just a particular place for vacation. In some years, we had none. But I do believe the bond will be built if we were to go somewhere away from home for once. Btw, I do have my experice in Disneyland but that is without the kids tagging along. I do feel so lost in emotion. Pray that one day, I could bring them there. But heck, Malaysia to California is dem far, ok! hehe
(I'll take good care of it.)
