VALENTINE’S DAY SPECIALS

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, AnimotoÒ (http://animoto.com), the video creation platform that lets users quickly and easily create professional-quality videos from their own photos and music, today introduced two new features that turn regular Animoto videos into beautiful, romantic Valentine’s Day greetings. With the single click of a button, users can now send Animoto video love letters framed in a vibrant, heart-themed animated page.  The recently introduced text feature completes the offering: users can add sweet notes, special memories, significant dates and other romantic touches to make their Animoto video even more personal. With Animoto, romantic gestures don’t have to break the bank.  Creating an Animoto Valentine greeting and sharing it is free for 30-second videos or $3 for full-length videos.  Annual subscriptions to create an unlimited number of full-length videos are $30.

Perhaps they swoon over all things eco or love gifts that give back; whatever it is that makes their heart melt, flowers and chocolates are probably not going to do the trick all by themselves.  If you’re at a loss what to get your loved ones (and have waited until the last minute to figure it out!), here is an idea that’s bound to send hearts fluttering this February 14th (and have their friends turning green with envy): Cool Earth – Unwrap a Rainforest. For $50, you can protect half an acre of rainforest for a loved one.  This will lock in 130 tons of carbon dioxide – effectively offsetting a household’s annual emissions by a factor of five.  The recipient will receive a certificate as well as updates and news from Cool Earth’s local monitoring team.  Most importantly, they can view and monitor their particular half an acre by logging onto www.coolearth.org

Whether you’re planning a romantic evening with your soul mate or a night out with all your single ladies, celebrate the people in your life by picking up the tab on February 14th with Give Real. Give Real is the first online service of its kind that lets you share a toast with friends, family, and loved ones this Valentine’s Day, even if they’re across the country.  Send a glass of Champagne, a Chocolate Martini, or a round of Sex and the City Cosmos that can be enjoyed at over 500,000 restaurants and bars in the United States.  If you’re seeing your special someone for dinner that night, win bonus points by sending a gift for lunch! Just visit Give Real (http://www.GiveReal.com/) or use the Real Drinks application on Facebook (http://apps.facebook.com/realdrinks/ ) to purchase your gift, sent directly to the lucky recipient’s inbox and instantly redeemable for a meal and drinks.

It would be enough if Fair Indigo’s Organic Cotton Jooble – “Pip The Dog,” was just the cuddliest plush around. It would be enough if “Pip The Dog” was so cute that children fell in love with him at first sight. But because Pip The Dog also happens to be 100% organic cotton and hand made fairly in Peru, Fair Indigo has been awarded the iParenting Media’s 2009 Best Product Award for Toys.

As you know February is “American Heart Month.”  Heart disease afflicts eight million American women, killing more than 500,000 per year.  To help raise awareness, advocate for research and arm women with the information they need, Mrs. Dash is calling on people to join the Women’s Heart Health Dash, which benefits The National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease.  Log onto www.mrsdash.com to participate in an online race across America by sharing your heart-healthy stories, activities and tips.  Each action equals one mile in the race.  The goal is to reach 12,000 miles which equals four trips across America and the distance blood travels through the body each day. And each day you share your heart-healthy moments you will be entered to win a Grand Prize Spa Vacation for two at Red Mountain Resort & Spa in St. George, UT.  There are also weekly prizes through March 31, 2009.

I signed up for the annual fee for Animoto. I am really, really happy with the final pieces but they have to compress the file so much to have it uploaded on facebook or YouTube that it doesn’t look good on the social networks. You would need to post it directly onto your website or server to make it worth you while. I do plan on making some movies of my son for my own personal files.

This is the movie I made and uploaded on YouTube, I still like it but it isn’t very clear and I was a little bummed.
