The Husband Watch: Week 3

October 20, 2008

Well, we’ve reached the halfway mark and I’m proud to say that I haven’t threatened DH’s life even once! Now that’s an accomplishment! There were times when he definitely got on my nerves but he was always extra sensitive to how I was feeling and would usually leave me alone.

I’m glad to say that his collar bone is healing nicely and even though he’s still in some pain, he has pretty much full use of his right arm again. This means that while I’ve been working my butt off (I’ve had to fly the last 6 days in a row!), he’s been at home doing the dishes, doing the laundry, and taking the girls to the park. In fact, when I got home yesterday, he took the girls shopping so that I could take a nap.

The best part was the morning he got Girlie Girl ready for school and dropped her off so that I could sleep in. This was a miracle since all Mommies know that if you’re within a 500 foot radius, the kids will insist that you’re the only one that can get them ready.

Anyway, thank you so much for hanging in there with me. I know I haven’t been around much but I have the next few days off so I plan to stop by and visit all of you. Hope you’re all having a great week!

Aloha for stopping by Devin @ CoolProducts, Carey, Diana/sunshine, Jen @ One Moms World, Jenni, Melissa, Witchypoo, Rick @ Tiny Prints, BeachMama, Thea @ I'm a Drama Mama, Holly Schwendiman, Renee, Naomi, LuAnn, Desert Songbird, Alexia, Minxy Mimi, Summer, Muthering Heights, Sheila, AmyG, and Eryn

I don’t know how you do it, my husband had a 3 day weekend, and him being home today made me threaten his life! lol

I’m glad to hear that he’s on the mend, and I’m REALLY glad to hear that he’s letting you sleep in!

I’m glad he’s healing nicely & that’s great that he’s helping out! Wouldn’t happen here… maybe he could give my man some lessons? lol

Wow! Sounds like a great guy! I hear what you say about the 500 mile radius thing. Oddly, that doesn’t get any better with the age of the kids. lol.
Glad to hear he’s on the mend!

That’s great that he’s helping out so much. Heck, you may even miss him when he’s gone.

O.K. Probably not.

Sounds a bit like the role I’ve been playing with my wife working crazy hours. Getting Jack up, dressing & feeding him, taking him to daycare and then the reverse in the evening every day. She even napped last night from 6 to 8 pm. I don’t mind, it’s given us an opportunity to really get to know one another.

Major score that he isn’t claiming “man pain”. Does he read your blog? If he doesn’t, you should definitely tell him how hot it is that he is so helpful.

That’s some good new for me! But really, it’s great that he’s taking the initiative to be as helpful around the house and give you some extra breaks since you’ve also been having to take care of him. Sounds like a good guy!
