12 invitations sent out
5 “yes” rsvps
Do you know how many kids actually showed up?
ONE!!!!

So lame.

Anyway, enough about that.

So, today was Girlie Girl’s 7th birthday and we decided to have it at Lisa Rose Tea House and Doll Room. We’ve gone to other princess-type party places before but none of them can compare to Lisa Rose. From the moment we walked into the room till the time we left, the hostesses were friendly, energetic, and accommodating. And even though with Girlie Girl & Baby Bug there were only 3 party attendees, they girls had a lot of fun. Girlie Girl is already making plans to have her birthday party there again next year.

Happy 7th Birthday Girlie Girl! We’re so blessed to have you in our lives.

They both look so beautiful. You’re right – it’s LAME to rsvp and then no-show. Shame on them, they missed a lovely celebration.

  2. Muthering Heights says:

Only one?? How impolite of those parents!!!

It looks like the girls missed a beautiful party – their loss!

  3. NerdMom says:

They look beautiful! I am sad that people flaked. I hope she had fun!

  4. Katy says:

    So beautiful!
When my daughter was little, she went to a birthday party where she was the only one who showed up. She had a great time with the birthday girl. Now 10 years later as best college friends, they laugh about that day.
That one who came is a very special friend.

  5. Grace @ Sandier Pastures says:

I could have gone with my troop if we’re living near! The party looks great!

    Happy birthday GG!

  6. Sues2u2 says:

Happy Birthday, Girlie Girl! She looks so beautiful all dressed up like the princess that she is. And so did Baby Bug (you know you’ll need a different name for her soon).

The girls who didn’t make it? Well it looks like they missed a beautiful party. If we’d been close my SG & I would have been there!

  7. ciara says:

happy bday to girlie girl…the pics are adorable. i really hate when people rsvp and become no shows. it’s very inconsiderate esp if you take the time to plan a party that has minimum guest reqs and the money you spend. what is wrong w these people? if you’re not gonna show, then don’t rsvp. i’m glad she still had a great birthday despite all of that.

  8. Alicia @ Experiencing Each Moment says:

Oh, that makes me sick for you! It looks like it was amazing, though, and Girlie Girl looks beautiful!

  9. Mrs. EW says:

Although only one girl showed up for Girlie Girl’s birthday party, there were five of us. It didn’t seem to bother these three girls as they enjoyed selecting their dresses, shoes, accessories, nail polish, and what little girl can resist the wonderment of makeup and having their hair styled.

They twirled, walked the “runway” and posed for photos. And during lunch, Princess Girlie Girl even had a little bell to ring for service when they wanted additional “tea,” appetizers, sandwiches or pizza, which I thought was precious.

I wasn’t sure how this party would play out, but I must admit it was the best two hours I ever spent at a birthday party. I was genuinely having a good time watching these three girls just having a great time. There were no disappointments expressed at all. I was especially impressed with Girlie-Girl because she took everything in stride (I wonder where she gets that “attitude”) (lol) and wants to have another party at Lisa Rose next year (hopefully, there will be a few more girls to enjoy the experience).

The party atmosphere and staff at Lisa Rose Tea House and Doll Room were EXCELLENT! You could tell they loved what they were doing and made the party a truly happy one for each child.

    HAPPY 7TH BIRTHDAY, PRINCESS GIRLIE-GIRL!

    Love,
    Grandma EW

Only one showed? Oh well. I’m glad they had a good time. It looks lovely.

  11. Amanda says:

I’m glad a good time was still had by all. Happy Birthday to your Girlie Girl! Both girls look so precious in their outfits, and so happy.

  12. Cath Lawson says:

That is lame. This has happened to my daughter before and I think it has a lot to do with rude and lazy parents.

But it looks like they had a lovely time.

  13. AmyG says:

    Happy Birthday, Girlie Girl!!!

Look at her all dressed up! She’s beautiful. As is Baby Bug.

The room looked beautiful, as well. To bad we didn’t live closer, my girls would’ve loved to have come!

I learned the hardway, about inviting classmates, last year. We invitied several girls & boys from Em’s class, for a bowling party, last year. Not one showed. Thankfully some children from church & her two cousins came.

I’m glad she had a good time, though. Hopefully next year will be better!

  14. mannequin says:

Happy Birthday sweetie! They both look like the little princesses they are.
That is so rude of the parents. Every year, birthdays are a major stress; how heartbreaking if no one showed up. You would think parents would be able to relate and think of the child. gggrrr… that makes me so mad I could spit cake.

I’m glad they all had a good time, it looks like a charming place for a little girl to be honored on her big day.

  15. LuAnn says:

Oh my goodness, yes RSVP and no show? How rude! So glad to hear the girls had fun anyway. They look absolutely lovely!

  16. Autumn @ My MoonBean says:

Oh that looks like so much fun!!!

I just don’t understand people…we went to a b-day party this weekend for one of A’s friends and there was only 1 other little girl there…so she had a total of 3 as well. I just don’t get it! So rude, especially when you RSVP yes! OH well, life goes on.

I’m glad she had a great time :)

    Happy Birthday Girlie Girl!

  17. Cathi says:

    Happy Birthday Girlie Girl!!
You are such a beautiful little Princess.
Hi to Mrs. Earth Worm too!!

  18. Kim @ What's That Smell? says:

    She looks so pretty!

It sounds like she was very mature about the whole thing. I would not be. How rude to RSVP and not show up.

  19. Upstatemomof3 says:

Well, she looks absolutely beautiful!!! I am so glad she enjoyed her birthday. That certainly looks like princess heaven. :)

  20. Alyson says:

What beautiful princesses! Sounds like a lovely place to have a party! You did well to be positive and the best happened – a wonderful time!
We only have family birthday parties so with our family, all show up. Not sure if I will have a “kids” only party in the future for AA.

  21. Amy @ Coffee with the Mrs. says:

Well, even if only one friend showed up, it looks like your daughter was happy. :)
You did such a beautiful job setting it all up. What a sweet idea.

  22. Janet F says:

    Happy Birthday Beautiful Girlie Girl!!!!!

  23. Dee says:

Oh that stinks! But she still looks great! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

  24. Michelle says:

They look so lovely and you’ve got it set up so nicely. I can’t believe the rudeness of the parents though.

  25. Hotomom says:

She looks wonderful. What a great birthday party and definitely such a shame that only one little girl showed up. RSVPing should be something that parents take more seriously. I am currently waiting for RSVPs for my daughter’s upcoming birthday and I know she would be devastated. I hope Girlie Girl wasn’t upset.

  26. Desert Songbird says:

It’s difficult NOT to be disappointed for Girlie Girl that only one person showed up, but kudos to her for keeping a chin up and celebrating with class. Truly the loss was on the part of those who didn’t come. What a fun party – wish I could have been there!

  27. Carey says:

Happy Birthday to your daughter! Shes one beautiful princess.

  28. Jennifer says:

Happy 7th Birthday!! I want to have my birthday party there, it looks lovely. What a beautiful girl!

I am so sorry other flaked.

  29. Liza767 says:

1 person im so sorry i hate when that happens i no loger go all out for b-days its a drag when noone shows

  30. Lissete says:

I am glad that the girls had a fantastic time. I’m sorry about the rude, inconsiderates that RSVPand don’t show. That’s even worse than not RSVPing at all.

The girls had a great time and that’s what matters. We can learn alot from kids! Just don’t let it faze you and have fun regardless!

  31. Lissete says:

Oh, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY GIRLIE GIRL!

  32. sagemom says:

They are so adorable. I can imagine how much fun they had…but OMG–only ONE showed up? That’s so shocking…

But what matters is at least she had a great time…and all those who didn’t show up just missed out!

  33. Jen E @ mommablogsalot says:

Oh it looks like so much fun! I’m glad she had a good time!

  34. Ann says:

I can not believe some people! The party looked like a lot of fun! And your girls look absolutely gorgeous and adorable!

  35. Jill says:

What a perfectly beautiful place for a little girl’s party!!

p.s. I can’t believe that many people didn’t show up!! That sucks!!

  36. Pamela Kramer says:

How beautiful!!!! They look so pretty. If I lived there I would have rsvp’d and showed up because my mommy raised me to have manners. lol

  37. common mom says:

She looks beautiful! And it looks like a great party . . . my Princess would definitely love it!

So sorry only 1 showed. I mean really, how rude to RSVP and not show up!!! If you can’t make it, you can’t make it – just say so. But to say yes and not come, just rude.

Looks like they missed out on a great party.

  38. Mandee says:

Well it sounds like she had such a wonderful time even though most of her friends didn’t come (not very nice) The girls just looked beautiful!!!! That just looks like the cutest place.

  39. Pamela says:

    I certainly wouldn’t invite them again –

Your girls look like adorable princesses – and I wish I could have come along, too!

  40. Hillary says:

Only one showed up? That is lame. I’m glad Girlie Girl had a good time, though. My daughter’s 5th birthday party is this weekend, and I’m afraid there won’t be very many people there, either. Nobody around here RSVP’s for anything!

  41. Angie (Losing It and Loving It) says:

Oh my they look so beautiful. I’m so glad they still had a great time and she wants to have it there again.

I think it’s totally lame that only one showed. What are these parent’s thinking?

The set up is so pretty! Happy belated b-day Girlie Girl.

  42. Baba says:

Happy Birthday Girly Girl! You look so pretty in your beautiful dress. If we lived there I know my grand-daughters would have come.

  43. Holly Schwendiman says:

I’m so sorry about the guests but what a beautiful party spread! Hope she has a most awesome day!

    Hugs,
    Holly

  44. Naomi says:

They both look like princesses and you are such a great mom for making sure they felt that way, too… I am so sorry that Girlie Girl’s friends have such inconsiderate parents! Unbelievable.

  45. Elle says:

I’m so glad they had a good time. Both girls looked beautiful!

  46. Vader's Mom says:

I’m so sorry to hear that – But wow – Girlie Girl is beautiful!!! I’m glad she had a wonderful day.

  47. Jen says:

It’s too bad those other girls missed out on such a beautiful and wonderful party…that is so rude! But I hope she had a marvelous time and a great birthday!

  48. Karen L says:

Your birthday girl looks like a princess! Happy birthday to her…but GRRRR, how annoying that so many flaked. What is wrong with their parents??!!!

  49. Asianmommy says:

wow–what a fabulous party! Happy Bday to Girlie Girl.

  50. Summer says:

Happy Birthday to Girlie Girl! She looks so lovely in her princess dress!

Sorry only one girl showed up. That must be so frustrating.

  51. Fran says:

wow, she’s so beautiful and all-grown up. :)
    happy birthday…

  52. jodi @ bpr says:

what a great looking party – such a shame that the other girls missed out! Glad ya’ll still had a blast!

  53. BlapherMJ says:

As long as she had a birthday to remember, that’s all that counts! :-)

  54. Lisa in California says:

That is so incredibly rude! How can people rsvp and then not show up?!!?!?! Unbelievable!

  55. Deb - Mom of 3 Girls says:

Happy Birthday to Girlie Girl – and such a ‘girly’ party she had too! She and Baby Bug look like they were having a blast all dressed up – I love it! :)

  56. Caryn Bailey says:

Happy Happy Birthday…She’s adorable…and the party looks amazing….I’m so sad that people can be flakey at times….

  57. Karen L says:

LOL! I just read through all the posts and saw the one from Grandma where she explained that the girls got to choose dresses to wear and had makeup as part of the fun. I was wondering about all that makeup!!

  58. Annmarie says:

What a great party…and I can’t believe all 12 invitees didn’t show! I know my daughter – who is 9 – would still have loved coming! She would never miss a birthday party…and especially one that was so much fun!

  59. Forgetfulone says:

What a beautiful birthday girl! I love all the girly stuff!

  60. Eryn says:

Our bday party is Saturday, and I’m terrified the same thing will happen…we’ve had one phone call RSVP, and one mom that I saw and confirmed.

I guess her classmates are talking about it, so who knows how many will show up.

Your daughter is STUNNING. Who did her hair?

I hope that her birthday was fantastic, and that many many many more follow! :D Happy birthday!

  61. Breas Mommy says:

    They are both beautiful!

  62. jennifer says:

Lame is right…but the girls had fun, which is all that matters!

  63. Cathy @ Chief Family Officer says:

Wow! I know things are super laid back in Hawaii, but still, I’m shocked at the lack of manners. I hope the ones who RSVP’d yes and didn’t show up at least called you with acceptable excuses like “I’m so sorry but Malia broke both arms and legs as we were leaving for the party.” And I’m glad you still had a great time. HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY, GIRLIE GIRL! You look beautiful!

  64. Krista says:

Wow, that is really sad. I’m sorry. I’m glad it didn’t ruin the day for her, and wow, does she ever look grown up in those pictures!

  65. Eryn says:

I don’t mean to freak you out, but I was telling my husband about your party and showed him the pictures….

he thought your daughter was closer to our daughter’s age (11).

Don’t ever let her wear her hair up again! lol She doesn’t get to be 11 yet for a LONG time! She does look so very grown up in these birthday pictures.

  66. Melissa Markham says:

The girls look lovely:) I would have loved to have had a party like that:) Sorry about the attendance problem. Definitely their loss! So were you dressed up too?
