Hahaha…I opened my email inbox this morning to find my sister-in-law had sent me pictures from outside the front of their house looking up at the snow capped Haleakala. Apparently they closed down the road up there because it was really icy.

  13. If it’s still there next week, my in-laws will FREAK. This is precisely why they are escaping Cleveland for Maui next week!

That is pretty, if not unusual for there.
When I lived in Arizona we went up into the mountains and had a snowball fight in JUNE.

I am featuring snow, too, and how used to the temps we get here.
But really, it is now too cold to even have school. They delayed school because it is cold out. HELLO we live in MINNESOTA, of COURSE it is cold! My kids found out when they got to school and noone was there. LOL We are tough.

  17. And people ski on that slope when it snows, don’t they? I seem to remember a few locals telling us that the last time we visited Hawaii. (Although we were on the Big Island. Maybe Maui’s snow is different.)

  32. Carrie says:

I remember 2 years ago exactly when my dh and I were visiting my grandma in waikiki and it snowed on the big island. It was kind of funny, people were saying that they could snowboard in the snow and surf in the ocean in the same day! It’s been -28 to -38C all week here in Alberta, I can’t believe how excited I am that it’s only -9 right now! I can’t wait for Spring!!

  33. That’s beautiful. I read other people’s comments above and it seems that snow is very rare in that area.
