Don’t forget to enter the Texas Instruments giveaway at An Island Review. You could win a TI-84 Silver Plus Graphing Calculator valued at $120!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Wouldn’t I just love to have this happen!
A philanthropist awards you $50,000 with the stipulation that you may use half of it for yourself and the other half you must use for the benefit of others. By “benefit of others? it can mean anything really, buying a gift for a family member or donating to a charity.
Thanks to Tiggerprr’s Scratching Post, I get to dream big for just a little while.
  1. How do you spend the money on yourself? First, I would become debt-free. Then I would probably buy a Prada handbag.
  2. How do you use the money for others? Please be detailed, so if you say “give X dollars to charity, let us know what charity and why you select that one. I would build my parents a second story on their home so my Mom could have a balcony to watch the sun set.
  3. If you were to spend part of your money to have a performer do a show for you, who would it be and why? I would have the cast of High School Musical perform a concert for all our friends and family because it would be so much fun to see Girlie Girl’s face! You’re all invited! Especially you Amy!
  4. If you were to use it on a new vehicle for yourself, what kind? Probably a BMW or Lexus.
  5. If you spent part of it to go to a “fantasy? camp, what type would you choose? Is there a fantasy camp where you could just shop all day?
  6. If you were to use it to buy season tickets for a sports team, what team would it be? I’m not all that into sports. However, DH likes The Raiders so I guess it would be for them.
  7. If you were to use it to go on a cruise (assuming you like cruises) where would you cruise to? I’ve always wanted to go on a Disney Cruise. Is that lame or what?
  8. If you were to use it to go to NYC to see a show (or shows) what would you see? My favorite is Phantom of the Opera. I’ve seen it 4 times and I’d love to see it again.
  9. Totally off subject (but since Fall is coming) what is your favorite carnival food (I was watching “Big? while writing this and saw them at the carnival)? Malasadas
Now it’s back to reality. *sigh*
Tagging: Colloquium, the so called me, Down With the Kids, Sandier Pastures, and you! Let me know if you do this so I can check out how you’d spend your fortune!
    Your mother’s house is my favorite part! What’s that carnival food, I’m a loser, I have NO idea what this is! xo
  6. Melissa says:
    Great answers! It is a very interesting question… :)
  7. Amy says:
    Yay! Thank you for inviting me…can I bring my kids too? Honestly, I would probably watch all the kids’ faces while the cast sang…wouldn’t you? Well…I might take a peek at Zac every once in awhile ;o) Oh, what am I thinking! I’m old enough to be his mother! Why does he have to be so darn cute?
    I have never been to see Phantom, but we listen to the soundtrack probably as much as HSM. I am blessed with a husband that can sing the songs too!
    I’ve bought my ticket and I’ll see you at the show!
  8. Michelle at Scribbit says:
    That’s a cute question–rather involved but cute. I’d travel. Period. It’s always my greatest splurge.
    I have NOT seen High school musical. Guess I better get with the program.
    I like the idea of a balcony to watch the sunset. With an elevator. (:
    I came home with sinus cold – and feel AWFUL.
    But your list cheered me up a little bit.
  13. Renee says:
    re: Hawaiian cruise…but of course we would come see you…then you can take us to the good places.
    When Dh last took me to see Oahu he avoided all things touristy…and I wanted to see all that stuff. :( He thinks he’s an expert since he used to live there.
    And we missed Diamond Head cuz it was under construction.
    Question…Punch Bowl is a dormant volcano…what happens if it decides to blow?
  14. Michael-Lover of Amy says:
    Greetings! My lovely wife Amy told me to visit you as you participated (and furthered) my meme today. I started a post one night and before I knew it I had created a meme, and a lot of people have liked it. I am glad you are one of them.
    I used to try very hard to live on island time, as a Phounding Pheather of the Parrotheads of Central Florida. I’ve been to the Keys 3 times on my own and twice on cruises with my wife, in fact the last trip there alone ended with my return to Orlando and my getting engaged the same day, must’ve been that island sun.
  15. Mary says:
    You had me giggling, but I loved how quite a few answers involved shopping. :D
    BTW, I gave you and award on my blog.
