Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday.
In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

My question is:
Are you more of a book smart or common sense person?

I would say book smart. I can be a bit ditsy at times.
I think that I’m about even, but I’m sure I have friends who would argue against that.
More book smart. I always admire people who can actually DO things.
I’d say I’m a combination of both. I like to read and learn, so I’m always looking at books that teach stuff… but I definitely use common sense with pretty much everything.
Common sense all the way.
I want to say a good combination of both.
I do have quite a bit of common sense- logic. But I love to study and believe that I have gained quite a bit of book smarts.
But now as I am typing I will say that I have more common sense!
(As you can see, I am undecided as usual.)
Great question!! Thanks.
Shari
i’d say i’m more book smart than anything else. my common sense is questionable, I have minimal sense of direction and I’m a bad judge of character.
I think I’m pretty equal on both accounts. I did well in school without studying much. I also usually have common sense about things, though occasionally I have a “blonde” moment.
Book smart, definitely.
I think probably more common sense / street smart. I never excelled in school.

oooh! That’s a good one. I would have to say common sense. I love to read and I did fine in school. I just think I am more of a common sense person.
Swing by my site and let me know which of life’s luxuries you would choose?
I’m way more common sense than book smart. I think I’m happier that way. I do possess some book smarts but I think it’s because I’m interested in so many different things and I like being around smart people.
I’d honestly have to say I’m pretty equal in both. That’s not to say I have my moments (or days) where one, or both of my “smarts” aren’t functioning. That actually happens a lot.
Gotta be book – I’m not the sharpest tack in the box.
I would say mostly common sense with a little book smart
Happy Friday!
Some days I”m both and some days I’m neither.
I do consider myself to be well educated, but school was never easy for me. I always thought the best part was seeing my friends and forming relationships. So I’ll go with common sense rather than book smart even though I do love a good book.
Definitely common sense! LOL
My family saids I am booksmart and no commom sense. I think I am both!!! lol
I think it depends on the situation. Most of the time I would say I have more common sense than I do book smarts though.
My first, ever Aloha Friday! Woo hoo!
It may be a cop-out, but I think that I’m both. Of course, it seems that now that I’m a mom, my brain is fuzzy and shmooshy. So this is also debatable…
In my younger days I was definitely book smart and lacking in the common sense area. Since becoming a mom, I seem to have gained a lot more common sense (and possibly lost some of my book smarts!)
I think I am more book smart or at least that is what I prefer. I like concrete things and concrete answers.
Heavily skewed to the common sense side…although I’ve been known to have neither:)
Definitely more common sense.
A common book smart person…LOL. It changes on any given day.
Sadly, book smart. I can remember anything I read and love math. When it comes to common sense, I’m not completely lacking, but not always on top of things…
Definitely a common sense person although I used to think of myself as a little book smart. Thanks!

Many theories from or by the book are derived from practical common sense. Coz if you have zero knowledge on something that’s the basic thing you would use common sense. Although there are things better to be done already proven by the book. Guess I’m a mix of both but more percentage on common sense.
Probably more book smart…
both. neither.
Common sense. I’m the type of person that when I read something it will stay for awhile, but it slowly leaks from my brain
