I usually try to have a plan of attack. Lately it seems I just go without a list (and make multiple trips per week) and I end up spending waaaaay too much money!! So I am going back to list making! .-= Teri´s last blog ..Happy labor day weekend! =-.

I usually go in and look at the meats and fish first, and see what looks fresh and good. Then I plan dinner around that and then shop for everything I need to go with it. I don’t go in with a list, I look to see what looks fresh and good, even with the fruits and veggies, too. As far as the basics, I kind of have a mental list of what we need…I tend to be very brand loyal so that part doesn’t take very long…I try to stay off the junks aisle, otherwise I’ll come home with lots of cookies and chips! Yikes!

The Hubs, Nano and I go shopping on Fridays… always with a list, which our grocery store provides (way to go Publix), that is separated by catagory. I also have my coupons (in a container that I HATE, but I just WON a Couponizer from Gobs of Giveaways… hooray ~ Thank you Kirsten). We sometimes go to up to 3 different stores to get the best deals. The Hubs worked in retail food for 45 years, so he is a professional and knows what he’s doing.

I generally make a list but forget to look at it half the time because I have to shop with 3 kids, which is no fun. I'm lucky if I manage a coupon or two. I love your question!
When I go grocery shopping, I sorta roam around and look to see everything… I know, I spend more money and buy things I don’t really need, but still!
BUT, I went shopping with my dad a while back…
Let me just tell you!
Remember that show, SUPER MARKET SWEEPS?!
Well, I think my dad is competing in a hidden camera version of it!
So, he RUNS, ASFASTASHECAN! Through the store, to the point where he leaves the cart at the end of the aisle..
Yep! That was MY DAD!
Needless to say, haven’t gone back with him!
If I wanted to exercise, I would get a gym membership!

Seriously, the name of my blog is A Frugal Friend….so of course I have the most Frugal Plan of Attack. LOL. I have my detailed list of deals and freebies……..when Kroger was doubling coupons up to $1.00 I spent 5 hours at Kroger one Saturday. OMG – but I got a $400 plus bill down to a little over $100. Can’t beat that.

I can’t believe I used to just wander in the store with no list, no coupons and just bought whatever. Ha…..the old life.

I HAVE to have a plan of attack – with a 5 month old and 2 year old if I don’t I will go crazy LOL

I have also noticed that if i have a detailed list I spend quite a bit less!

Hmm…if it’s Costco, there’s a plan of attack, or else I’m liable to forget something.

If it’s a NORMAL grocery store, I go in knowing what I’m willing to pay for things, and I buy produce, etc. if it’s below that number.
