Please feel free to snag any of these Aloha Friday headers. If you’re the creative type and would like to design your own header and have it listed here, just let me know. I’ll include a link back to your site so that you receive credit for your hard work!

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday.

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link below. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

My question is:

What’s one attraction that your home town is known for and have you ever been there?

We have several festivals and fairs that I have never been to. They look great, but tend to be expensive.

My town is known for having sporting events, like golf tournaments. I have never gone, golf is boring to me. I do get a good nap if it is on the Tv though {something about the announcers}. We are in the mountains, so we go hiking every weekend. Aloha and take care.

Every summer Virginia Beach (my hometown) has a HUGE sandcastle building contest at the boardwalk. People come from all around to participate. I live outside Detroit, MI which is known for many things…most I try to avoid. However, right up the road from me is the “Octagon House”. It’s an old home that was literally built in the shape of an octagon. Also, it was a stop on the underground railroad. I love hearing the stories about the family that lived there and how they helped to free the slaves.

    Stacie says:

We have a couple attractions here first is the boat launch as Algoma is the fishing capital of Wisconsin. I haven’t ever been fishing here on the lake. The second is the winery. Yes I must admit I have been there. The third is the board walk. The light house in Algoma is by the board walk. Yes I have been there it’s a beautiful site!

    Renee says:

If you’re considering Benton, LA my hometown (where I lived from ages 4 to 14) the only things it HAD going for it were the court house and the lake. And yes I’ve been to both. The town is now very dead and I haven’t been back since I was 14 but I’ve googled it. :(

If you want to consider Tampa, FL as my homtown (where I lived from 14+ to age 25) well it still has a lot going for it and we usually go there for vacation but not every year…much to the disappointment of my mom. ;) Tampa still has tons of stuff to do that we haven’t ever tried, but we’ve seen the good stuff!

The town we live outside of (guess I would consider it my hometown now) has an underground salt museum (650′ below the surface) and the Cosmosphere (space museum). We cover the highs and lows around here! I have been to the space one but you can’t get me to ride that elevator to the depths of the earth!

Our small city is known for it’s ‘nautical mile’ filled with shops, restaurants and piers. We’re a small boating community on the lake, and we’ve really enjoyed summers by the lake here in our neck of the woods.

    Have a great weekend! =)

    My hometown is Arlington, Texas:

Known for Six Flags over Texas, The Wax museum and The BallPark At Arlington (Home of the Texas Rangers!)

I have been to Six Flags more times than I can count, The Wax Museum for their haunted house (TERRIFYING!), I have never been to the BallPark at Arlington… they made it after I moved to Colorado.

My home state is known for the “mormons” or more accurately The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Along w/ the church is the temples the most famous of which is the Salt Lake temple which I have been to a few times. The other thing outsiders might not know about is fry sauce. French fries were invented as a means of getting fry sauce into one’s mouth! *L*
