Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday.
In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.
If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link below. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!
My question is:
What’s one attraction that your home town is known for and have you ever been there?

Nothing really…my hometown, Mineral Ridge, OH…Well it was once considered for the spot of the Nation’s Capitol. Which is really weird because it’s such a small town…definately wouldn’t have been though=)

In my town, I suppose it would be the University, and the accompanying sports, landmarks, etc.

The Issaquah Creek runs all through the town of Issaquah, WA and every year we have a Salmon Run Festival to celebrate the salmon going upstream to spawn. The Creek(more like a river to this Ohio-bred gal) runs right next to my apartment! I love to sit on my balcony and listen to the sound of the water rushing over the rocks! Well, I’ve lived many different places in this lovely state. So if you want to know about the largest city near me, that would be Seattle and one of the main attractions is the Space Needle. Yes, I’ve been there, but it’s been a few years.
The city I live in is pretty small and has only started really growing in the past 5′ish years. I’d say that IT’S attraction is probably the lake it’s named after and while I only live a mile or so from it, no, I have not actually been TO it although I drive by it a couple times a week (and I’ve lived here for 3.5 years).

One of the big PGA courses is here. And no, I’ve never been… I don’t have a couple of hundred $$ to throw down for a round of golf!

my hometown is small and not known for much although 15 min away is where the loonie (our $1.00 coin) was invented.
Our Surf ‘n’ Slide Water Park. We have the only flow rider in the state! And, yes, we’ve been there quite a few times this summer.

Humble is not really known for anything except historical things, and there is a museum, which I have been to. It’s on the outskirts of Houston, where I live now. Houston is known for the Astrodome, and I have been there. We also have NASA, and I have been there as well. Galveston is nearby. Been there, too.

I live in Celebration, FL which is actually a community in Kissimmee so our biggest attraction is Disney World…. and you can bet I’ve been there, tons of times. It is one of the main reasons we moved down here… Ya’ll should visit our little community whenever you visit DW, it is really quite nice.

We’re a bunch of winos here in Lodi.
The last number I heard was 84. That’s the number of wineries we have in town. A lot of people don’t realize that Lodi produces more Zinfandel grapes than the Napa wine region. And we have many wines produced here that are rapidly developing international reputations for excellence. Bed and breakfasts, some really fine dining, and an overhauled downtown with lots of little shops, including antique stores, round out the package. We are the alternative to Napa.
