Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday.
In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

My question is:
When you go to places like Starbucks or Jamba Juice, do you leave money in the tip jar?
I’ve always seen these tips jars but never thought anything about it. However, last week Girlie Girl and I were at Jamba Juice and she asked what it was for. After explaining the concept to her, she asked if she could leave money in there since the lady was so nice to us. Since then, I’ve been tipping.

I usually go through the drive through at Starbuck’s, when I go, so no tipping is done. Happy Friday!

If I’m paying with cash, and I get some loose change back, I usually throw that in the jar. Happy Friday!

Sometimes I do. It really depends on who’s working. If my favorites are working do, otherwise, not usually.

Sometimes. If they were friendly and quick I’ll usually throw in a dollar or some loose change.

I sometimes tip. I tend to do so more when I know the people there.
Since my friend worked some time at Starbucks I try to do it more when I go to a place that has one. Of course, all bets are off if people are rude.

I don’t go to either place, but if I did, I would tip, but the amount would depend on the service.

If the jar is there and I get a bill or change, then yes. Aloha and have a wonderful weekend.
I usually don’t… unless it is actual change and I already put my wallet away. Then I am just lazy and I will throw it in the jar.
I don’t go to either or those places but I have seen some tip jars @ fast food/drink places. Sometimes I will tip but only if the service was worth it.

I must admit, I don’t usually leave a tip, but if I receive extraordinary service (which is rare these days it seems), then I’ll leave something.

If I’m paying with cash… problem is, I’m usually carrying just my card.

If I pay with cash I always do. If I pay with my card I don’t. But I rarely go to either of these places.

Hmm, I don’t think I’ve ever been to a Starbucks or a Jamba Juice. But I’m usually paying for things with a debit card and don’t tend to carry much cash (if any) so probably not.

Not usually. If I’m paying $6 for a cup of coffee, then no, especially, lol. Sometimes I will put extra change in there but not so much.

I don’t go to those places often, but I used to work in one, so I’ll usually at least leave any loose change, sometimes a buck.

I always try to tip. I remember what it was like working jobs like that. Tips can make a big difference.

I tip at Starbucks or any other coffee place every single time. My hubby is a consistent tipper as well! It just seems like the thing to do and people sure appreciate it!

I just leave whatever change is left unless I pay with a larger bill. At Dunkin Donuts, it’s only 10 cents, but Starbucks is 50 or something like that…Not made of money, but my change quickly overtakes my wallet!

The only StarBucks around me is in the grocery store and I don’t buy their coffee. My husband does and I think he tips but I am not even sure they have a tip jar out. If they have a jar I would leave money but if not than no.

Sometimes in Starbucks I will– usually I drink only coffee so if I have a bigger order or something they have to make up, I’ll leave a tip. =)

I actually don’t go to Starbucks but, if there is a tip cup I usually drop the coins from my change in it mostly because coins are a pain.

Some time I do. I do not always see a jar. Sometimes I use a gift card and have no cash. Really I do not go to Starbucks very often. Have never heard of the other.

to me this depends on the person serving if the person is nice with a great attitude I do and if not I either don’t or not as much
I try to avoid SB and other $5 for a cup of coffee places because for the most part they are so Eco UNfriendly lol

i am a heavy tipper. I am a mom and frankly, I appreciate ANYBODY who serves me or waits on my. As a mom I know what it is like to fee under-appreciated! Don’t we all! So I tip heavily- especially like good service. I also try to make a point to comment to the manager is the service and/or food is extra special. I rarely lodge a complaint though because I try to make a habit of concentrating on the blessings and try to overlook things. I Cor. 13 says, “Love bears all things.” As much as possible, I try to be a blessing out in the workplace! And I find I people generally respond in a like manner!

I can’t say at those types of places I have left a tip. I don’t think I have been in anyplace like that to be honest.
It honestly depends on if I have cash with me. It also depends on how nice the people are. If I get people who are being rude or obnoxious, I don’t tip.

If I use cash and get change back yes. And I usually give it to my son so he can put it in the jar.

No. I usually pay with credit card anyway or debit card so I don’t have spare change. In general the only people I really tip are waiters/waitresses since they are below minimum wage workers and then people who deal with my bags while traveling. I’m just not into the whole tip me for doing my job attitude that a lot of people have.

I don’t go to starbucks but when I used to go to Sonic I did tip them. Sometimes it’s hard tho’ if you don’t think about it in adv. when you are paying with a debit card.

depends. if I pay with cash and have change then I toss it in, but if I pay with credit card I don’t bother digging for change
