Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday.

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link below. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

My question is:

If you had to be a door-to-door salespeson, what would you choose to sell?

I think I’d sell candles, every woman I know loves candles!

  2. Hmm . . . probably baked goods and homemade chocolate.

  3. I have no idea! I am no good at sales so maybe shampoo or soap or something that everybody needs. :)

  4. Golden Girl says:

I would like to create handbags and totes and sell them door to door. Have a wonderful weekend and take care.
    -Kiki

  5. Jennifer says:

Oh that is one thing I would be dreadful at. I am far too shy and not pushy or persuasive.

  6. Designer handbags or shoes…you know, something that people would actually WANT, so they wouldn’t slam the door in my face! LOL!

  7. That’s an interesting question. I’m a horrible salesperson. I suppose it would have to be something useful and practical and something I love…children’s books or vacumns, lol. Somehow seeing the shock on someone’s face as you suck up all their dirt and gunk seems very satisfying…as long as I don’t have to do the whole house! ;D

  8. Anne says:

I would sell hot, fresh baked cookies. Who could resist. I would have a van outside with the freshly baked cookies in warmers. The chocolate chips would still be melty and gooey. The smell would be incredible. Everyone would say, “Here comes the cookie lady”!

    Anne

  9. Amy says:

I make a sugar cookie that would be hard to resist if I gave away free samples. I am not much of a salesperson, but I think they would sell themselves.

  10. hmmm… have never thought about that before. i don’t think i ever would because i am terrible at sales. i guess i would try jewelry. you would want something that is light because you would be hauling it all around. jewelry seems as good as anything.

  11. Heatherlyn says:

Girl Scout Cookies. People actually LIKE to buy those. :)

  12. Kekibird says:

Hummm….let me think. Probably Avon! Ring, ring. Avon calling!

  13. Kimberly says:

I definitely agree with the cookie suggestion! I would also throw in some fresh brownies too. Nobody can refuse fresh baked goods, right?

  14. Hillary says:

Food, of some sort. I’m terrible at that sort of thing!

  15. gift certificates to the local spa!

  16. Michelle says:

I can’t think of a more horrible fate than becoming a door-to-door salesperson. If I was driven to it by neccesity, I suppose I would sell something for kids, like toys. People are suckers for their kids.

  17. Sarah says:

I’m going to go with baked goods too, probably cupcakes. Who doesn’t love cupcakes. I would make an AWFUL door to door salesperson though.

  18. Chris B says:

    GREAT Blog!!
I’m a Hawaii boy living and working in Japan. I added you to my blogroll. Awesome blog design!!

  19. Stacie says:

    I would sell scrapbook stuffies!

  20. Jeremy says:

That is a great question. I would sell lottery tickets. It’s something I know people would buy especially when no one was looking. :)

  21. Becca says:

I think I would sell candy bars to raise money for charity. I always give those kids money lol

  22. Hmm, I’m not exactly the ’salesperson’ type so it would probably have to be something that basically sells itself or that is pretty much a necessity in every household. I can’t think of anything specific though.

  23. Janice says:

Hi! i found your blog on Buried with Children and thought I’d check you out because her letter was hilarious! I have family in Hawaii and thought it was kinda cool to find you!

You have a great blog! You may see me here often! Mine is private but love new friends as well!

  24. Janice says:

Actually I found you on Jiggety Jig that was on Buried with Children ~ anyhoo… you are a great find!

  25. Melissa says:

I used to sell Avon, I wouldn’t mind doing it again.

  26. Perhaps food would be the easiest to sell. Maybe desserts like cakes and cookies. Or maybe local delicacies like rice cakes.

  27. Rob says:

This is touch as I do not like door to door sales people but if I had to I would say soft Philly pretzels! Yummy!

  28. Oh great, if I were a door-to-door salesperson, I’d never make any money! I can’t solicit people! LOL! I suppose, if I really had to, I would choose to sell either candy – and the good kind! – OR, I would cater to moms and sell my time. That’s right. I’d offer to either clean their house or watch their kid(s) for an hour. I think that would be a very lucrative business! ;-)

  29. OTIN says:

I could never go door to door selling anything! I would feel so invasive, but if I were forced to, I would probably want to sell some sort of food item.

  30. Any chocolate product!

  31. Laura says:

That is a tough one as I am not very salesman like. I guess it would have to be something that I totally loved and believed in. Not sure what I do.

  32. Hmmm…would driving an ice cream truck count as door to door sales? Because I think I would be good that!

  33. that is easy my hand stamped jewelry, I love selling it online but face to face would be fun!

  34. Tammy says:

I really would not want to sell anything but if I HAD to sell something, I would sell candles.

  35. Mommy Vent says:

hmmm probably children’s books or some kind of food

  36. Aunt LoLo says:

    I used to be a Mormon Missionary….so I’ve got some experience. ;-)

I think I’d like to sell Girl Scout Cookies!!

  37. Jen says:

    great question!

    I’d sell cupcakes! =)

  38. blueviolet says:

That’s a horrible job! The rejection must feel awful.

I’d maybe offer a service of some kind like landscaping or yard cleanup or some such. Then I’d farm out my son to do the work. ;)

  39. angie says:

I would sell cookies and hot tea so that we could sit and gossip over a great cup of tea

  40. Sky says:

Oh sheesh! That’s a tough question! I’m a crappy sales person…but I do know I wouldn’t sell vacuums, books or life insurance. Those are the types that I tell NO THANK YOU to all the time!

Coffee? I’m pretty passionate about my coffee…so maybe.

  41. Audrey says:

I sold Avon door to door for over 10 years. I’d do it again in a heartbeat. Today, I pretty much just sell it online.

  42. Food definitely – I think people would be less likely to slam the door in my face over cookies or chocolate than if I were selling say knives or sham wows.

  43. Sue says:

I don’t think I could do that. But maybe Avon. I have thought of actually doing that before.

  44. Heather says:

I’d be so horrible at that job. I think I’d try selling some of my homemade white chocolate macadamia nut cookies though. I’m told they’re the best cookies people have ever tasted!

  45. Michelle says:

I would sell shoes so that I can get the huge discount on them!

  46. Kimert says:

    Cupcakes!!!!

  47. Thom says:

Some type of food. I’m not good at selling :)

  48. I would sell high-end chocolate!

  49. MommyAmy says:

    Chocolate! For sure!

There’s a reason why everyone’s happy to see the Girl Scouts coming! lol

  50. Elle says:

I’m a terrible salesperson. I’d be so nervous and shy.

  51. Ashlee says:

Flip Flops. Everyone loves flip flops and I do, too! I don’t really know why. I just got to thinking about sand and the beach looking at your background here. Flip Flops!

  52. IE Mommy says:

Oh! I know makeup or jewelry (but that would be dangerous) I am pretty good at selling stuff.

Thanks for the fun. Swing on by and tell me your favorite dessert

  53. Jackie says:

I think I would sell some sort of chocolate baked goods. That is something I would definitely buy if someone came knocking on my door right now : )

  54. Sheila R says:

I would sell baked goods like cookies, cupcakes, and brownies. Yum. I love to cook and I am great at it.

  55. Baba says:

Probably something everyone uses: Cleaning supplies, soap.

  56. I’d also like to sell a great product that people would actually want and be greatful you were coming to their door with it. Chocolate is a good idea and I can’t think of something else that would appeal to everyone right now

  57. I couldn’t do it…I’m too shy to get people to take what I”m selling. lol

But If I was I’d be selling Cupcakes or cookies.

  58. Jen says:

I hate door to door sales and avoid that type of stuff like the plague BUT if I had to do it, I would sell baked goods because that would give me an excuse to bake and not have to eat it all! Maybe I should bake and just give it away to my neighbors…

  59. Ali says:

I have read through most of the posts so far and don’t think anyone else has said it – it has to be doors right?! A door to door salesman that sells doors….do they even exist?

  60. I would not be good at it and I would hate making “cold calls” but I would sell cookies. Who wouldn’t want some cookies and all the children would love me!

Thanks for hosting this event. Blessings.

  61. I grabbed your button and faved you on technorati. Stop by my blog and see if you are interested in returning the favor! Blessings.

  62. robin says:

Truthfully, I couldn’t do this. I’d be just sick. lol.
    I’m to introverted. :)

  64. Something yummie to eat!!!

Fresh Cookies that smelled delicious, and I’d work mostly around lunch or dinner time!
