Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday. In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too.
Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response. If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link below. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!
So my question is . . .
When manually washing the dishes, do you have a system?
I wash in this order . . . plates, bowls, cups, utensils, pots & pans. Hubby washes everything from the cleanest to the dirtiest.

I’ve never really thought about it before.. but I don’t think I do! I guess I do the smallest to the biggest, so that it fits easier in the drying rack. Good question!
Yes, I do. I have my teenage daughter do them.
Yes I do
I do wash from the cleanest to the dirtiest too and I do cups, plates/bowls and last pots and baking pans etc.
Happy weekend!
You know, I’ve actually never thought about that before, but yes, I do! I usually wash largest to smallest so I can stack ‘em as efficiently (and as high) as possible.
Have a great weekend, Kailani!
We typically only wash pots and pans by hand, but yes I suppose there is a certain order that we do things in.
I never really thought about it, so I do not really think I do…
I guess I will try and notice next time
cleanest to dirtiest and I like to wash my big things that take up too much room in my dishwasher
I do the biggest item first then work down to the smaller items. We do manual wash all the time as we don’t have a dishwasher at home.
I don’t have a dishwasher, and there’s only two of us, so I usually do the dishes as I go along when I’m cooking so after supper all I have left to is the dishes.
No system – just get them done ASAP! Manual labor – UGH!
I wash the big stuff as I go. Makes life a lot easier for me.
Have a great Friday!

Glasses first, plates, silverware, pots & pans
Usually me however NY will do what ever needs doing if I don’t get to it. ;D
I wash cleanest to dirtiest all the time.
I usually do glasses, bowls, plates, then pots and pans.
Have a lovely weekend!
I guess my system is glasses, then flatware, then plates, then bowls then pots.
Have a great Sunday!
I wait until the dishwasher has been on a couple of minutes and then I run the water in the sink to finish the leftovers that didn’t fit or couldn’t go in, like the good knives. That way the water is hot straight out of the tap and we don’t waste any waiting for the cold to run off.
