Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday. In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too.
Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response. If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link below. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!
So my question is . .
What is your blogging pet peeve?
For me it would be people linking up their sites when they’re not participating in the meme. ![]()

When I’m not sure what to do or how to answer the questions because most of them are girlie girl! Have a great weekend. Oh and those funny letters you have to figure out in order to make a comment.
Ditto your comment…..that’s one huge reason I stopped hosting Mailbox Monday. I had to go in and delete all the time.
I, too, hate that word verification stuff! I can never read it! Also, bloggers who “toot their own horns” and blogger cliques. Reminds me too much of high school!
I agree with everyone on the the silly words. Google words are the worse! they’re all crooked.
If I have to jump through hoops to leave a comment anywhere…I leave. I also do not like spamming bloggers who link up places they aren’t actually participating. Happy Aloha Friday!!
I hate when I read a blog post, want to leave a comment, and then realize that their commenting system is Facebook only (or Blogger/OpenID only). Let me leave my name/e-mail/URL or link up via Twitter or something! Not everyone is on Facebook or Blogger.
I think I agree with everyone else about the verification words, I sometimes can’t even figure out what the letters are. I need to check and make sure my blogs are not on word verification.
Word verification is at the top of my list, followed by messy layouts, fancy fonts and automatic music.
Lately, it’s all the spam comments I’m getting on my blog. It’s driving me nuts, but I don’t want to put in a word verification system, because I hate that too!
Blogs that are hard to navigate.
Word Verification is right at the top of my list, and all the things mentioned in the other comments, too.
My biggest blogging pet peeve is when there is auto playing music/video on a website. I often open multiple windows and then have to track down the culprit to close.
Top on my list is word verification. Drives me nuts. I don’t always have a lot of time during the day to comment on blogs and if I have to take the time out to figure out what those darn words say…Forget about it.
I hate commenting platforms that make you jump through hoops before you can ever leave a comment. I don’t want to log in through Facebook or BlogFrog or anything like that. It also bugs me when I have to click “read more” to be able to read an entire post.
word verification and music on the page – grrrr!
CAPTCHA first and people that hit all the blog hops with the same copy/pasted comments week after week. I don’t always leave a comment when I stop by, but at least you will never see some meaningless “come visit me” comment.
Poor grammar! (Bet you didn’t figure I’d say that! *snicker*)
Ok, word verification is pretty annoying sometimes.. but what I really can’t stand is sparkling layouts with bright colors on black! You can’t read any color of text on sparkling pink and red hearts on a black background. Makes my eyes go buggy! Sorry if that’s you!
I don’t mind the word verification because it stops the dumb spam comments but it’s the ones that pop up on you AFTER you hit submit that drive me insane. If you happen to not see it pop up then your comment that you just spent time typing just went into never never land.
That stupid word verification that blogger just switched to is making commenting a real chore. ggrrr…….
Those verification letters drive me nuts especially when i don’t get it the first time. Yo what is it good for anyway. How does that thing know if you’re a spammer or not if I can read the letters so can a spammer or hacker. Don’t get it. Great question my friend. Have a great weekend.
Stupid word verification – bloggers only have so much time to give a good comment.
blog cliques -
This won’t be popular but for me it’s all the extra media that goes along with it. It started with facebook, then twitter, then google+ and many more since that I’m staying away from and don’t want to know about. I don’t want to be chained to my computer trying to update so many media accounts just to promote my blog. I didn’t start the blog to be a slave to it and I refuse to be a media queen just to keep up.
I hate CAPTCHA because I am less and less able to solve it! Especially when it says something like “prove that you’re human” and it takes me three times to prove it to the Internet.
