Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday. In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too.
Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response. If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link below. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!
So my question is . . .
Have you ever met anyone famous? If so, who?
As a flight attendant I’ve met a few in my time but the nicest one has got to be Mark Dacascos who currently plays Wo Fat on Hawai’i Five-O. I had him on a flight and once the other passengers found out he was on board they all wanted to have their photos taken with him. I kept apologizing to him and told him I would try to prevent people from approaching him but he was very gracious and accommodating . . . and just basically a really nice guy. So different from the character he plays on television.

Yes … but they really are just people who have a lot more money than we average people. ;D
yes, I’ve met some horror movie actors at a movie festival.
I used to work in a building where a popular radio was located so I’ve met many celebrities. I’m not the type to ask for an autograph so I usually speak and keep it moving. However, Cedric the Entertainer is one of the nicest celebrities I’ve ever met.
Sure, I’ve met a few, but they are people just like the rest of us.
Once, Annette Benning. I remember thinking when I shook her hand, “Geez, her hands are sooo soft!” LOL!
Your American Living ad if I go over it it takes the whole screen & I have no clue how to close it so I would have to close your blog and come back so whatever comment I was typing is gone & I’d have to start all over again. I try to stay away from it, but somehow I always hit it. It drives me crazy. Did I ever see any stars yes, many. Did I ever meet anyone? I met Joe Walsh’s band, and when I was young and waitressing I waited on Jerry Vale who is a (old) singer.
Yes.. our senior minister – Lee Kuan Yew, Singer songwriter (my cousin) Corrinne May just to name a few.
Yes, back in 1988 we were on a flight with Michael Jackson. Thanks to blogging conferences, have also met other individuals and kept in touch with some.
Dave Barry is the only one I’ve met, but hey, it was exciting to me! I’d read his column for years by that point.
Oops I must’ve clicked on the wrong button to be an 8.1, sorry!
I have never met any celebrities but my husband has met Steven Spielberg.
Yep, I’ve met what’s left of the Beach Boys, while in Vegas.
Yes, I’ve met several when I was still living in Seattle.
No, I can’t think of any famous people that I’ve met.
I’ve met some famous people. My dad worked for 40 years as a grip in the movie industry. We didn’t attend many of the functions since my mom didn’t care for them, so I’ve only met a few actors. Met Lee Horseley and the cast of Paradise (a western that was on TV for a while…one we really liked so we actually went to that cast party). And I remember being spooked out an actor from Rat Boy ( probably a B movie…he had contacts or something in his eyes that made his whole eyes look black). My Dad of course has met a lot of other famous people…George Burns, Lucy O’Ball, Clint Eastwood, etc.
I might have in my country. I always dismiss them. I think they are just regular people.
While vacationing in Hawaii in November 1973, I met Don Ho, I even got a kiss. We were both younger than. ; )
In junior high, I met the Beach Boys, at their after party. I was too young to enjoy it.
I also graduated with Marty Klebba, the littlest pirate in Pirates of the Caribbean.
I’ve never really met anyone famous that I can think of….although that would be cool. My sister ran into a pitcher from a major league baseball team recently.
Sort of. My husband’s brother is married to the first cousin of Geddy Lee of the rock band Rush. Anytime they have a big party, Geddy is there and just a regular nice guy.
The only other “famous” person I saw was Kate Moss. We walked up to an ATM machine in New Zealand at the same time from two different directions. Got to say, she is skin and bones and has a terrible complection. She had a rash on her chin and I didn’t realize it was her until later. Not so gam in person Lol!
I met patrick swayze’s cows lol that’s as close as I’ve come!
Oh that is a fun question since you are in Hawaii, I went to Maui with my brother for my high school graduation gift and at the Luau I met Tracey Lawrence who was on his honeymoon with the Dallas Cowboy cheerleader that he later beat up and they divorced. I got my picture with him, it was awesome!
I’ve met a few famous people- however ‘famous’ is defined.
Have a great Friday!

What a great meme! Kailani. I have just added this to my Memes page.
I have met many famous people in my life. I once had a job on W.57 in NYC, and saw actors nearly every day!
(P.S. I have just posted my ALOHA FRIDAY!
I met MC Lyte at an airport, Darius McCray (big brother on Family Matters) at a mall, I think that is it!! BUT I keep my eyes open because we live in Austin and this is a little “Hollywood” of sorts : )
Actually, I kind of did when I was at BlogHer 10′! I was walking around the sponsors booth area and all of a sudden, a lady came up to me and asked if I wanted to take a picture with Bruce Jenner-Of course I had NO clue who it was, so I was like sure. LOL
Later, my mom told me who it was ^.^
Happy Friday!
I’ve met The Jets back when they were really big. They happen to be relatives of mine. I’ve also met Stephenie Meyer at a book signing. A friend of mine is a friend of hers, so were able to talk with Stephenie’s husband for a bit as well and get the low down on the movies before the 1st Twilight Movie was even out. So fun.
I don’t know if some would consider them famous, but I have met a few authors that I think are fab Wayne Thomas Batson,Tomie dePaola, and Donald Hall. I’d love to meet Karen Kingsbury!
Nope
