Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday. In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too.

Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response. If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link below. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

So my question is . . .

What do you secretly wish your child will grow up to be? OR . . . What did you secretly wish you would grow up to be?

My answer . . .

I secretly want at least one of my girls to become a techie for Apple so I can get the family discount!

Please link up only if you’re participating in Aloha Friday. All irrelevant links will be deleted.

I wanted to be an astronaut or zookeeper. Seriously! As for my children … I always taught them to find something they enjoy even if its not the highest paying job on the planet. It doesn’t do any good to earn a lot of money if you are unhappy at your job. My oldest son works construction and my youngest is … a Black Jack dealer at Harrah’s Casino on a local indian reservation. Not my choice of a career for him! LOL

I wanted to be on tv. I could have been Oprah. lol

I still want to be an author.

Same with Debbie, I would love to write a book (or 90)… I hope my kids will grow up to be happy.

I always wanted to be a zoologist. Too bad science isn’t really my gig.

I always wanted to be a doctor. I became a nurse instead. I’m so glad that I’m not a doctor.

I actually hope Princess Nagger grows up to be what she’s been saying for the past couple of years – a Paleontologist. I’ve been surprised that she brought that up when she was 5, and now at 8, still holding strong to that dream. I think it’d be cool! :)

I wanted to be a detective as I love action and mystery. I’m not sure at the moment what I want the kids to grow up to be but hopefully whatever career they choose will be one that they enjoy doing and is able to support themselves financially.

I hoped my boys would’ve grown up to be truck drivers like my dad. Instead I married one. lol

    Jennifer says:

Oooh, good question! When I was growing up, I wanted to be a star – not like they do today, where you’re famous for nothing – but I wanted to be a famous actress. I got the latter part of that dream down, but the famous? Not so much, LOL! As far as my son is concerned, I secretly hope he’ll grow up to be one of those super awesome, genius nerds with a fantastic career, while looking like an Asian Brad Pitt! HA!

    Jessie says:

For me… I’d love to be a midwife. The training is just something we cannot afford right now.

For my daughter… I’d be proud of anything she does. But I’m hoping for a birth advocate in there somewhere ;)

    Owen's Mom says:

My children? I would love either of them to go into metabolic disorders or become dieticians to help others with conditions like theirs. Or just live in a fabulous vacation town! Lol.

    Deborah says:

I wanted to be too many things, and I was, LOL. I just wanted my daughter to be intelligent and she is. I wanted my son to just grow to manhood and he did. No secret wishes really.

I want to be a doctor.
In real life I want to be a psychologist.

I secretly wish my child will grow up to be a doctor and a businesswoman

I keep planning to do my own and I keep forgetting! Augh! I want my son to be an architect and my daughter NOT to be a teacher, maybe an interpreter for the hearing impaired.

    Pamela says:

I always wanted them to grow up to have values that protected them from the confusion of the world. Oh, and to be rich, too. ha ha.

I always told my boys I wanted one to be a doctor and one to be a lawyer. TeeHee – then I told them to do what makes them happy. Now I have one in the Army who wants to learn how to jump out of moving aircrafts with a 70 pound backpack and a loaded weapon (oh my) and the other one is in a rock band and works the night shift at the same grocery store that me and his step-dad did (he gets fabulous performance reviews). They are both delieriously happy! =)
I always wanted to be a doctor, went to nursing school, but am now disabled.
