Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday. In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too.

Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response. If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link below. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

Today Kiana had to get 2 baby teeth extracted. Needless to say, she was very traumatized by the whole thing since she’s never even lost a tooth before. However, I was able to calm her down when I told her about the Tooth Fairy’s visit.

So my question is . . .

What is the Tooth Fairy payout either at your home or when you were a kid?

Please link up only if you’re participating in Aloha Friday. All irrelevant links will be deleted.

    Owen's Mom says:

When I was a kid, I usually got around $5 all in change to fill up the cup I had the tooth in. Jeepers, with inflation I a going to be broke when my kiddos start losing teeth!

Alex is too young right now but I think it was $ .25 ??!!?? honestly I don’t really remember.

    Tammy says:

I think I got a quarter for each tooth…our kids get $5 for the very first tooth lost and $1 for each one after that!

Um, when I was a kid I think it was like 50 cents. I give my kids a buck. I think when the molars come out the tooth fairy will start forking out $5 a piece. I do like to mix it up in the way I pay the dollar out though. I will give it in paper sometimes and other times I do it with different variations of cool coins like 50 cent pieces, Sacqajaweas(?) and other fun stuff.

When I was a kid, I usually got a shiny 50 cent piece.

I think it was 25cents. Not positive but remember having a tiny little pillow with a pocket on the front that my mom had made to put the tooth in.

I think I got a quarter or so when I was a kid!

A quarter when I was a kid. 50 cents for my kids. Probably $1.00 for the grand-kids now.

As a child I had no idea there was a tooth fairy.

And now as a mom, I don’t …wont be paying any money for toof…maybe once. I don’t know. I’m really not sure.

my husband is a cheapskate and would pay only a quarter if he could get away with it. i recognize inflation and bump it up to at least a dollar or two. but if the child had to live through the horror of getting a tooth extracted i would make sure the tooth fairy left a major payout under her pillow. like $5. we did that once when second born had to get a baby tooth extracted. feeling like the tooth fairy thought she was extra special made her happy.

I don’t remember ever being visited by the tooth fairy when I was a child. I only recall going to the dentist to get the tooth extracted when it got wobbly. $$= Zero

I guess the currency exchange in our household were M&M’s… very valuable and payed upfront, no commissions or any other hidden taxes and just in time to crack another tooth out:) hi hi Aloha to all!

    Crystal says:

I got $5 per tooth when I was a child. But I was spoiled. My kids get $1 per tooth.

  14. 14

When I was a kid, I’m pretty sure it was 25-cents per tooth. Princess Nagger has been getting $5 plus a golden dollar. :)

    Simply Cathi says:

It was $5.00 when our kids were growing up but that was a bit high. I have no idea what the Tooth Fairy makes these days so I’m anxious to read the comments! ;D

    Dee says:

We aren’t there yet at our house, but it was $5 or so dollars when I was a kid.

  17. 17

$1 per tooth, which is still what I give my kids.
    Have a great weekend!

  18. 18

Whatever the Tooth Fairy had in her pocket, but usually $1, and sometimes nothing (The Tooth fairy is forgetful)

    Laufa says:

The tooth fairy brings my kids a dollar a tooth. My daughter told me the other day that her teeth will be more if they are molars. I guess I better send the tooth fairy an e-mail. (She’s looking over my shoulder.)

    Ellen-TCMom says:

We always got money, I think a dollar. My kids have not lost teeth yet so I haven’t even thought about what the toothfairy will bring them.

  21. 21

I got $5 a tooth but they weren’t falling out and my adult teeth were coming in so they had to be pulled so my mom felt bad. I give a gold coin for each tooth because fairies give gold lol

  22. 22
    shelly says:

When I was a kid, I think I got like fifty cents. Usually the tooth fairy around here brings about $1.

  23. 23

I think $5 is the going rate??? It’s been a while since we lost a tooth here so my memory is kind of fuzzy.

  24. 24

I think I got a quarter per tooth when I was little. Our kids are young yet so I haven’t had to think about the payout for them. I’m sure inflation has brought it up to a dollar a tooth now. lol

  25. 25
    Harriet says:

I had the cheapest parents on the planet. My mom passed away a year ago still owing me a Barbie doll I was once promised!

    Have a great Friday!

    Kristen says:

my kiddo hasn’t lost a tooth yet but I am sure it will pay nicely

  27. 27
    angie says:

toothfairy paid out .50 a tooth when I was a kid and $1 a tooth or more with my children it seems each year inflation would go up LOL

  28. 28
    Sarah says:

I think it was about a quarter when I was a kid. We have not gotten there yet with our son, but probably a dollar.

  29. 29
    Allison says:

When I was little we got maybe a dollar. My oldest daughter’s first tooth paid out $10. I think she scored.

  30. 30
    Denise says:

Parker is to young to have lost any teeth yet and I am pretty sure we only got like .50 or 1.00

  31. 31

It was $5.00 when I was playing the tooth fairy.

  32. 32

I gave my kids $1.00 for each tooth but always in a cool way like a gold dollar or a Sacajawea dollar, it always looked nicer under the pillow.

  33. 33
    Kayla says:

I know when I was younger, the first tooth I lost I was given a silver dollar and a real pearl necklace. LOL

    High quality tooth fairy, huh?

After that, I think it was a couple dollars per tooth maybe.
