Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday. In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too.
Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response. If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link below. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!
My question is:
Are you getting a tax refund? If so, what are you going to do with it?

Believe it or not, I have no idea. NY filed and I know he told me but anything and I mean anything that has numbers in goes in one ear and totally out the other ear. I can’t even remember Brian and Mindi’s home phone number. How bad is that? I’m terrible.

We lost our home to a fire a couple years ago. Since our loss for that year was so much, the government forced us to claim it over 5 years. lovely huh? If it was a gain…they’d want it immediately!

We got our refund. Went to bills and a new laptop for me. Although my new laptop is broke thanks to my daughter. LOL

We got ours a while ago and we used it for some new stuff for the house.

Yup! All ready got it, all ready gone! It paid a few bills for us and we bought a computer, a camcorder and LCD TV. Hopefully next year we will use to buy a new car. That would be really fun!

We got our tax refund already, thank goodness!
We paid all our bills, stocked up on formula for the month, and bought Spring clothes. The rest of it is going into savings for the future. My husband is taking the bar exam this summer and the review course alone is about $1400!! So, that’s where most of the rest will go… and whatever is left will go to a small family vacation.

We filed EARLY and we did get a refund–a nice refund too, and sadly it paid off some stuff and has continued to help us live the last few months

WOO HOO Yes, the first time in a long time too! We thought we were going to have to pay again because I’m self employed doing transcribing out of my home, but not this year. It’s not a real lot, but it’s better than paying, and we’re going to put it right into the Savings Account, and if we go on vacation this year we’ll probably use it.

Maybe in the future, but right now, no we’re not. If we did though, we’d be paying off some debt, getting some things that we need and having fun with some of it too.

We actually won’t know until October if we’re getting a refund – we have someone else do our taxes for us (nicknamed ‘Shady Lady’) and she always files for an extension then does that actual submission in the fall. The timing always works out, though, because when we do get a refund, it helps fuel birthday and Christmas purchases for November and December!

Yes, got it 2 months ago – and used it mostly to make a big payment to our mortgage – not exciting, but necessary.
Yes, we will be getting refunds. The money will be used for nursery school for our little guy and home repairs. Of course, who knows when we will actually see our state refund.
We are using our money to move from IN to MS. So yes we got money, but it’s already spent.

This year we actually got a pretty good one cuz we have a farm and bought new equipment. We are saving most of it but I did buy me a new camera and netbook.

Most of it we are saving and some is being used to pay off some debt!

GOT IT SPENT!!! BILLS BILLS BILLS
We got ours and have most of it in savings, but it will go to pay off bills and pay closing costs on refinancing our house. We did buy the kids a new playset for the backyard with some of it.

We got a refund. We bought a new mattress set for us since we had been sleeping on the same one for 9 years. We paid off some debt with some of it and have the rest in our savings account for the emergency bills that come up.

Yes we are getting pretty nice tax refund this year and since we didn’t have a vacation since hubs lost his job in 2008 we are taking the boys to Disneyland in September.

Yes we did our taxes this year and will be getting a nice refund. We will be doing some investing and spending a small portion of it on things we need, etc

We took half of ours and put in wood floors and remodeled our little bathroom…the other half went into our savings acct…woohoo!

Well, we were expecting our refund any day, but instead got a letter asking for more information.
And that info means we get $300 less. We’re using it all on our house… and half of it has already been spent so we’d really like the refund to pay that off the credit card!
