Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday.
In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.
If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link below. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!
My question is:
How will you be spending Super Bowl Sunday?
|
About the author: Kailani is the owner and founder of An Island Life. You'll find her sharing her daily life as a mother to 3 wonderful daughters, working as a flight attendant, and living a blessed life in Hawaii. |

We will be spending the day at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. That evening dinner at Boma at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.
I don’t have any plans for watching the Super Bowl. I may watch it but just with my husband and son. I have plans to be at a hockey game for my son in the afternoon. And then we will come home and maybe watch the game.

we are going to a party at my hubbys B/F if we find a sitter!:)Aloha
We don’t do anything special. It’s just a normal day and then we’ll turn the game on once it starts. We don’t to anywhere because the game’s on so late that the girls are in bed before it’s over, and we don’t have anyone watch it here because everyone either has kids that also need to be in bed before the game’s over (stinks that it’s a school night!), or doesn’t have kids and doesn’t want to watch with kids around to distract.
We will be at home relaxing. Our little guy is pretty sick so we are just going to take it easy.
We’ll be in church in the morning and should I be ashamed to admit that we aren’t a football family? Actually our kids boys are but my husband and I are not. We’ll probably record the game and watch it when we can skim through to see the score and of course the commercials.

I’ll be so busy with a million errands to do that day….but hopefully will settle in for some Super Bowl watching at home with the family…..no parties this year!

As @TheAngelForever said, our Super Bowl Sunday will definitely be a “wild” one with lots of “party animals.” I don’t think Disney will let us invite all of them back to our hotel to watch the big game though. Something tells me that some of them wouldn’t be good guests anyway. The lions, in particular, would probably think I was part of the Super Bowl snack tray!

NOT watching the super bowl. Hubby might watch it, but I have no desire to do so. I am not a sports fan at all.

Since the home team isn’t in the superbowl, there will be no big party. the family will watch because we all like football and love the commercials. i’m not even sure who i’ll be rooting for.

It’s usually just another Sunday for us. Choir practice is usually shortened so we can be home by half time. I used to tape it so I could watch the ads, but now I just go online to see them. I’m not sure if we’ll be watching any of it this year or not. But I hope the Colts win!

No Super Bowl here! But there’s this kids carnival this weekend, some kind of Halloween for Germans, and there’s gonna be fun to watch all those kids dressed up so spooky and with their lanterns running around the city! FUN
Aloha
Unfortunately there is always something to do at our house and it usually involves work. Work on the house. Splitting wood. Caring for animals. Not too much free time.

I think the weekends fell perfectly this year. Superbowl this week for the guys (and some girls)…and then Valentine’s for the girls (and some guys), lol.
Super Bowl Sunday is generally a family thing around here. Everyone comes over whether they like football or not just to be together on that day. Go Saints!

I’m late so I can tell you WHAT I did. I had to drive home Sunday from 6 hours away…
I planned on being home before the kick off, but on the only stretch of one lane highway I got behind a line of cars. There was a little old man in a hat at the lead going very very slow. ARRRRGH.
Then I had to drop my SIL off and help her find her phone charger. She has alzheimers and even though I had put it in her suitcase, she said it wasn’t there. It was. But her phone was dead and I needed to make sure that was set.
Game was started in the “game room” at her “retirement” center — so I rushed past there to see what was happening and grabbed a handful of home made caramel corn. It is sooooo much better than store bought.
Rushed home, threw my suitcase in the bedroom and JUST sat down to watch the game and got a call from Auntie Ferns retirement home that she was having an anxiety attack. I got there and found out her hearing aids weren’t working and she’d gotten a phone call and she thought her other son was dying. (One son died in December) I was able to calm the situation and got a telephone call through to her surviving son and he was fine. She just got confused by a phone call and not able to hear it and made some assumptions.
Got home — and the half time show was on. Wolfed down some food and then watched the rest of the game.
Was this TMI? ha ha.
