Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday.
In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

It is freezing at our house. I could go for some of your Mom’s corn chowder right about now.
I enjoy a bowl of minestrone soup when it’s cold outside. A good bowl of chili with onions and grated cheese is nice too.

I love chili. My family thinks I’m strange because I always eat a peanut butter sandwich with my chili. Don’t know why I do, just have since as far back as I can remember. Yummy!!

I’m not sure why, but I tend to eat ice cream more during cold weather – maybe because it won’t melt as quick?.. But I love it..

Slow Cooker Portobello Mushroom Chili. I prepare it in the morning and it cooks all day. When I get home at the end of the day, I walk in from the freezing cold and smell nice, hot chili waiting for me.

Mine is homemade soup!! I love homemade soup. I might see if I can find a new to me recipe this weekend and give a try at some soup.
I’m seeing a theme here and agreeing with it. Chili has to be at the top of my list. But any kind of soup or stew is great when it’s cold outside. And ice cream isn’t a seasonal food for me either. I eat it all year.

I love corn chowder! It’s not my favorite cold weather food, but you reminded me of my mom’s corn chowder. I moved away from Hawaii 8 years ago and could really go for some of mom’s corn chowder right now! Getting to my cold weather favorite… I’d have to say homemade chicken noodle soup. Yum!

Hmm, I would have to say beef stew or chili. Unfortunately nobody else in my family likes either of those, so I don’t get them very often.

We have a French restaurant & pastry shop in town that makes the most delicious bread and pastries that I have to stay out of or I would balloon up to 500 pounds!!
