Butterflies + Plants: Partners in Evolution
This giveaway is now closed. Thank you for your participation.
The winners are Gina Stratos & Janet F.
Congratulations!
I love butterflies.
That’s why I was thrilled to find out about a new exhibit at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History (SNMNH). Unfortunately, I don’t live in Washington D.C. or are planning a trip there any time soon. But if I were, that would be the first place I’d visit.
From the site: “The Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History has just opened the exhibit Butterflies + Plants: Partners in Evolution which features an interior Butterfly Pavilion. The Pavilion showcases multiple species of tropical butterflies as well as over 250 nectar and pollen producing plants in an enclosed climate-controlled setting.“
How cool would it be to have live butterflies around while you stroll through 1200 sq.ft. of some of the most beautiful gardens you’ve ever seen? What a great opportunity to discover the life cycles of butterflies and other animals and how they’ve evolved, adapted, and diversified together with their plant partners over tens of millions of years.
Not only beautiful but educational as well. Here you’ll be able to take a historical tour through time and see how butterflies and plants have evolved and co-existed throughout the years. The exhibts includes timelines, colorful murals, videos, and vivid photographs.
The Natural Museum of Natural History is free but there is a nominal charge to visit this particular exhibit. Advanced tickets are suggested since the tours do tend to sell out quickly. Stop by Butterflies + Plants: Partners in Evolution for more information.
Win it!
