Cleared For Take-Off

April 27, 2007

This was taken on our flight home from Maui during Easter weekend. Sorry if it’s a little shaky, it’s gets pretty bumpy over the Kahului Airport.

BTW, is anyone else having problems accessing blogs through Bloglines? I haven’t been able to visit anyone! Maybe I should use a backup reader. Any suggestions?

That was really neat! But I have to be honest, it made me a little nervous that about 5 sec. after you took off you were over the ocean! I’m always scared that the plane will go down right away and boy that would have made my stomach hurt. I am sure you are used to it though :) Beautiful ocean. Wow.

What? No windsurfers at Kanaha state park or Hookipa? I have taken off from Kahului at least a dozen times, going home to the Big Island after a weekend with my windsurf boyfriend (now husband :) The very scariest plane landing I was ever on was there on a very windy day.

I switched to Google Reader months ago and haven’t looked back. You can export your Blogline subs as an OPML file and import it into Google Reader.

I use Google Reader, too. It won’t let you comment in the reader, but you can read and click over to comment. It updates pretty fast too when a new post is published.

I felt that light-headed feeling when the plane actually lifted into the air. lol I’m not afraid of flying. I’m not. *grin*

I agree with the others; I also use Google Reader. Super easy to use and super reliable.

So amazing! I want to go to Hawaii… I think I’ll start saving my $$ :) I was so disappointed to see that my flight from Palm Springs to Seattle doesn’t swing out over the ocean. The one from San Diego or LA does. But my flight goes over the tip of Nevada, Utah, Idaho, Oregon and Washington - rats. :S

How do you sign up with Google Reader? I’m still learning about all this stuff. I want to get a blog feed or whatever you call it on my blog, but not sure how to do it. I want that thing where people can subscribe to my blog and it emails them and tells them I have posted a new message…how do you do that Kailani? Is that what Google reader is? Sorry for being so dense!

I’m jealous of your travels!

re: the Microwave… it’s on a bracket attached to the wall AND bolted up to your cabinets from the top…it’s NOT going anywhere.

I was asking the guy because we need to figure out how to get the dead one down. I’m really hoping that the old bracket fits our new microwave…cuz it won’t be fun installing a new bracket…especially with DH. We’ll be there all day.

I was there, I was there! LOL I knew exactly where you were before I read it. How I miss seeing Haleakala, and the West Maui Mountains, and the way the clouds gather on them.

Taking off and flying away from Maui was one of the most heartbreaking moments of my life–I cried! We took off at sunset, which was beautiful to see from the air.

I WILL be back someday.

Hope you had a nice and comfortable flight. My 3-yr old son has never been on a plane before. It would be nice to bring him along for a nice vacation somewhere.

I wanna go HOME!!! (Okay, so it hasn’t been home in 30 years…)

I cried too when I left–both when I was six and when I went back five years ago. It was DEVASTATING to leave!!!
