Zazoo Photo Alarm Clock for Kids (Giveaway)
This giveaway is now closed. Congratulations to commentor #33: Melissa P!
Now that Kacie is older, she’s responsible for setting her own alarm clock to wake up on school mornings. So when I heard about the Zazoo Alarm Clock for kids, I thought it would be a great item for her to try out.
The ZAZOO photo clockTM is designed to help improve the lives of both children and parents. The clock is intended for children as young as toddlers before they can even tell time. And older kids love the multimedia features.
We received the Pink Peace Zazoo Alarm Clock ($89) and Kacie thought it was the coolest thing! I really like the idea of an alarm clock that displays the time and date for older kids and a picture of the sun or moon for toddlers. It’s a great way for kids to know if they should be sleeping or getting up for the day. Plus, it prevents the kids from waking me up too early to see if it’s time to get ready for school.
All the buttons are located on the back of the clock which gives the front a nice clean look. There’s also a built-in stand to make displaying your clock a breeze.
On the right side is where all the ports are located – memory card, headphone jack, USB slot, slot where you can attach your clock to your computer, and DC adapter.
One of the things that we really liked about the Zazoo Alarm Clock is that you can download your own personal photos and have them displayed in various fashions such as a slideshow. To do this, just connect your clock to your computer (USB included) and drag and drop pictures onto your clock’s file. The only downside is that the pictures tended to display a little darker than expected.
You also have the option of adding music to your alarm clock, however, it didn’t seem to support our iTunes files. So instead I had to find other MP3 music files and drag and drop those onto the alarm clock’s file. It would have been so much easier to use my iTunes library since that’s where all my music is. However, once we got the music loaded, it was easy to play our selections. The sound quality wasn’t the greatest but it was perfectly fine for Kacie to enjoy.
What makes this clock different from other digital picture frames is that you can also download MP4 videos. You just have to be careful not to use files that are too large for the interior memory to hold. However, if you do run out of memory space you can always use the memory card slot for added GBs. Again, the display was a little dark but totally watchable.
And finally, there’s a tiny remote control that you can use to access all of the clock’s functions. This is a wonderful feature since Kacie sleeps on the top bunk of a bunk bed and is not able to manually control the clock’s buttons. However, since the remote is kind of small I worry that it will get lost in all of Kacie’s clutter. Maybe if it came on a lanyard so she could hang it from the bed post or some sort of clip on the back so she could attach it to something more stationary.
Overall, we really liked the Zazoo Photo Alarm Clock and all it’s features but I do think there are some things that still need a little tweaking. However, once they get those little items fixed this could be the most awesome clock on the market!
