When I was pregnant with my first child (Kacie), I felt like I had to have the best of everything. However, I quickly learned that the most expensive item was not necessarily the most useful item or even the best item . . . it was just the most expensive. Then with my second child (Kiana) came a little more experience in the baby shopping area and I looked for items that I felt would make my life a little easier. I also looked for items that didn’t cost a whole lot since Kiana was to be our last child (or so I thought). So when baby #3 came along (surprise!) I didn’t know what to do. I had already given away everything!
Luckily, I now knew exactly what I needed and what I didn’t.
Besides the basics like a good car seat and stroller, crib, diapers, and clothing . . . I knew I would need a baby swing. I don’t know what it is about it but it was the only way I could get my kids to fall asleep when they were young. In fact, Kacie practically lived in hers!
Having a comfortable baby carrier was also a must. Even if I didn’t venture out in public with the baby in the beginning, having her in a carrier made it so much easier for me to get things done around the house. Plus I loved having that “baby smell” around me all of the time.
And of course, having a quality set of bottles was important for those times when I just had to get out by myself. It also allowed DH a chance to bond with the baby while I was gone. With Kaila we used Born Free.
BornFree specializes in developing and manufacturing baby feeding products that feature a natural flow that’s closer to breastfeeding, tummy conscious ActiveFlow™ venting technology that’s clinically proven to reduce colic, and naturally safe materials that are free of BPA, PVD and phthalates.
I think it has something to do with the silicone valve that minimizes the amount of air a baby ingests during feedings resulting in less spit up and gas. Plus I also like that the milk doesn’t automatically drip into the baby’s mouth. She would need to actually suck on the nipple for the milk to flow. And it didn’t leak from under the ring like another well-known brand did!
From bottles to training cups to toddler cups . . . Born Free has all your baby’s feeding needs covered.
