This giveaway is now closed. Congratulations to commentor #257: Carol!

Super Bowl Sunday is almost here! I’m not a big fan of the game but I love watching all the festivities and hilarious commericals! It’s also a great way to get family and friends together and just enjoy each other’s company. However, sometimes putting together the menu can get pretty expensive so WalMart has come up with their Game Time Snacks for Eight for as little as $44!

So what’s in this great value pack? Check this out . . . one package of Oscar Mayer Hot Dogs, one package of Johnsonville Bratwursts, two packages of Great Value Hot Dog Buns, two boxes of T.G.I Friday’s Frozen Appetizers, one Hormel Supreme Party Tray, a 12″ Chocolate Chunk cookie and two boxes of Nabisco Wheat Thins or Triscuit Crackers. With all this great food, you’ll definitely have all your neighbors knocking on your door at game time.

In addition, WalMart has some great deals on electronics to make sure you’re ready for the big kick-off. Wouldn’t this be a great time to get that flat screen HDTV you’ve been wishing for? WalMart can even come to your home and hook it up for you! They have installation packages starting at only $99.

So to help you get into the football spirit, stop by WalMart and check out all their great items that’s sure to make your Super Bowl party a big hit. And while you’re there, you’ll also find valuable tips on how to plan your party including some tasty recipes. Yum!

Enjoy the game!

The best tip is to use sale items and coupons if you can find them! Other than that, I serve filling items if possible…pasta salads, that kind of thing.

I think the best tip is planning. If you plan ahead and watch sales and coupons, you can probably come up with some pretty good items.

To feed a big crowd I use my crockpot to make a big batch of something, like chili. I make a dish called wet shoes, curley fries, topped with lots of chili, add a lot of shredded cheddar cheese on top of that, then sour cream on top and last but not least scallians. This is great and fills them up…!! joshmilky@aol.com

My tip is to get generic chips and serve some sort of bean dip. Most of the time you can’t tell the difference because all you taste is the dip.

Keep your drink menu simple. Offer two inexpensive choices such as lemonade or punch. If people want others, make it BYOB.

My money saving tip to feed a crowd would be to prepare everything myself. Rather than buy a huge sandwich tray, I will make my own little sandwiches, things like that.

I save money by buying larger amounts of things that cost less (e.g. pasta or frozen pizza) and smaller amounts of things like fruit or expensive drinks. Also, buying things on sale or having people bring a dish to share help, too!

main entry: To save money buy your items in bulk, and both walmart or sams club is a great place to do just that. Buy lots of fritos, chilli & cheddar cheese, little hill shire smokies, they are low in cost but very filling, thanks

To feed a crowd I usually go with the main part being sloppy joes, chili or something on that line that is filling yet goes far. I also buy all Walmart snack stuff. It seems to taste just as good as brand to us.

I do big plates of things like nachos in the oven and chili in the crockpot to feed a crowd. Everybody can share and mingle, and the components for things like nachos and chili are relatively inexpensive.

    Julie N says:

Stretch your budget by including more ingredients in your meat dishes. Instead of bbq wings, serve a hot layered chicken dish with beans, rice, vegetables, cheese and sauce that can be served on buns, tortillas, or as a chip dip. Asking people to bring a dish to share can cut down on cost, too.
