The new year means different things to different people but, for many of us, it all points to weight loss. With “get in shape” consistently being one of the most popular resolutions for both men and women, clearly the idea of being healthier, more attractive and overall feeling good about yourself is one theme that isn’t going away.
For me, as much as I am going to be adding diet and exercise to my lifestyle (or at least attempting to), one way that I know will also help my appearance and self-esteem is to have the proper undergarments. Whether it is a correctly-fitting bra or a piece of slimming shapewear, having the right intimate apparel can make a big difference in your look and truly make or break an outfit. And one company that knows full well how to design and create the pieces that women want and enjoy wearing is none other than Wacoal.
Arriving in the United States in 1985, Wacoal’s mantra has always included making women look and feel their best. By designing exceptional lingerie that really fits, providing exemplary service and developing lasting customer confidence, they have built up a dedicated fan base and continue to attract new customers to their high quality products.
Seeing as I can use all the help I can get with my midsection, I was most interested in trying out the item that has been seen in Oprah Magazine: the Get in Shape Long Leg Shaper.
With engineered panels that trim your waist, tummy and thighs from just below your bra to mid- thigh, at first touch I could see how the super-stretchiness and mix of fabrics was going to help keep things sucked in tight. Varying between thinner sections along the legs and tush and thicker panels across the midsection and sides, I already liked the soft yet strong feel of this shapewear.
After pulling these on, I immediately noticed how much I liked the non-binding leg bands. I’ve worn other slimming products where the leg band either rolls or is so unnaturally tight that it makes a weird dent in my leg that shows through my pants. Instead the nylon and spandex in the Get in Shape Long Leg Shaper has a finished edge that stays in place without being uncomfortable at all.
At the other end, the waistband of this Shaper is an extremely durable and stretchy double layer of elastic that I found did a great job of staying in place throughout most of my bending and moving. There’s nothing worse than having an undergarment jab into you or slide around and force continual readjustment throughout the day and I found that the Get in Shape consistently stayed put very well.
After having worn this Shaper for a while, I’m pretty happy with the results. I feel as though everything in my problem areas are being held in well enough to smooth out my figure and the minimal seaming really does make this disappear underneath my clothing. All in all, I’m comfortable and my clothes fit better – exactly what shapewear is supposed to do.

Over at Thanks, Mail Carrier, Xenia and her daughters love the vroooooom sound the mail truck makes when it heads down their block. When they aren’t rushing out to the mailbox to see what came, they spend their days visiting fun places, playing with great friends and enjoying the peace and quiet of nap time. Stop by and say hi!
