My kids have never really been exposed to Veggie Tales as much as they have to other kids shows. However, as a parent I can really appreciate the positive message that these characters instill. That’s why I was really happy to have the opportunity to share Veggie Tales Saint Nicholas: A Story of Joyful Giving with my girls.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
When Junior Asparagus and his Veggie friends learn that Laura Carrot’s dad has lost his job on Christmas Eve, Bob the Tomato decides to tell the kids a very special story about giving. Using a big storybook and a little imagination, they all travel back to ancient Greece to meet Saint Nicholas — the world’s greatest giver.
OUR REVIEW
This was a great video for not only my children but for me as well. I’ve never been very familiar with the history of Saint Nicholas and Veggie Tales did a great job in explaining his background in a fun and entertaining way. Bob and Larry are the perfect compliment to each other and my girls just loved them. We also liked the fun and catchy songs that inspired my girls to get up and dance around the room. Everyone had a great time!
The only part that they had a hard time watching was when Nick’s parents passed away. Even though it gave me the opportunity to explain death to the girls, they still had some mixed feelings about the whole thing.
However, the best part was the moral of the story . . . it’s better to give than to receive. This is something that my girls really needed a lesson in and Veggie Tales did a great job in getting the message across without it sounding like a lecture. What a great way to share the real meaning of Christmas.

These days, it’s so hard to find good, uplifting entertainment. I love their songs that teach good values, their characters make my kids like veggies more, and they’re just a lot of fun.
