One of our family’s most anticipated movie this year was The Princess and The Frog.Â We were counting down the days until it’s release and of course now we’re so busy with Kaila and the holidays that we haven’t had the chance to go yet! So when I had the opportunity to review the soundtrack CD, IÂ figure it would be the next best thing to being there.

The collection of magical songs from this amazing soundtrack features Anika Noni Rose (Dreamgirls), Ne-Yo (R&B music star) and Academy AwardÂ® winning composer Randy Newman. Set in the great city of New Orleans, the sounds of Jazz, Zydeco, Blues, Gospel and more are all present for an unforgettable musical experience the entire family will enjoy!

OUR REVIEW

This soundtrack is definitely in Disney style. The songs were upbeat, fun, and helps to paint a picture of what’s going on in the movie. My girls loved listening to it and enjoyed dancing around the house to some of the songs. Now they really can’t wait to see the movie. I’m glad we had the opportunity to listen to the soundtrack first because I know it will definitely enhance our viewing experience when we finally do make it to the theater.

My girls favorite song is “When We’re Human” by Anika Noni Rose and featuring Terence Blanchard. The characters share their hopes that one day they’ll turn back into humans. It’s a really fun song to listen to and my daughters kept hitting the replay button on the remote. Now I have that song constantly going through my head! Oh well, it could be worse songs, right?

So whether you’ve already seen the movie a few times or have yet to go, you’ll definitely want to add this soundtrack to your music library. You can purchase your CD at Amazon.com for $12.99.
